False Hopes
Written June 14th.
I have so many hopes
But they are out weighed
By my constant
Sense of doubt
I always dream big
But who's to say
That all our wishes and dreams
Come true
I've wished upon a star
One to many times
That a star to me
Is only a fiery disappointment
I've lost one to many pennies
To even count
All of them have ended up under water
Drowning, drowning my wishes
It seems to me
That miracles only happen
When you aren't asking
For anything to begin with.
Maybe that's why
I am where I am
Down on my luck
And let down
So goodbye to dreaming
Goodbye to wishing
I'm better off
Not being lucky at all
But they are out weighed
By my constant
Sense of doubt
I always dream big
But who's to say
That all our wishes and dreams
Come true
I've wished upon a star
One to many times
That a star to me
Is only a fiery disappointment
I've lost one to many pennies
To even count
All of them have ended up under water
Drowning, drowning my wishes
It seems to me
That miracles only happen
When you aren't asking
For anything to begin with.
Maybe that's why
I am where I am
Down on my luck
And let down
So goodbye to dreaming
Goodbye to wishing
I'm better off
Not being lucky at all
