Why was the clock always ready before i was? Roxy thought. As she ran down the stairs she took the 20 dollar bill out of her dads outreached hand. It was kind of a system they had developed. Roxy grabbed her wallet,gum, ipod touch, and cell and stuffed it in her bag. She was just so excited. She hadn't seen her friends since school let out and it has been so hard. Roxy kissed her dad goodbye and went to the door.

"Love you dad, bye"
"Ok sweetie, bye" he replied.
She opened the door and was just about to leave when her dad called out.
"Oh, by the way, I'm leaving this afternoon for business trip. I'll be gone for about two weeks. is that ok? I mean, you can come with me if you want, but since it is the first week of school and all..."
"No, dad, it's ok. I'll be fine"
"You mean it? I can stay home or just ca-"
"No dad I'm sure"

"I just don't want you to be upset or anyth-"
"Dad. I swear. I will be fine. "she said each word as their own sentence and hoped he got it.
"Ok. you can invite a friend or two over while I'm gone. But no more than three."
"Got it. Now I really got to go to school now."
"Ok. But no parties"
"Gotcha"
"And no boys!" he yelled as she was closing the door.
"Bye dad!" she said as the door closed.
She knows her dad means the best, but sometimes he just has to let it go.

As he watched her get into her car he sat up in his seat. He would get the information he needs about ray. Even if it means through his girlfriend.
