Chapter Two: Second Meeting
It's been a week since Alex's party was. And I can tell that every time we crossed our paths his eyes were on me. Well, for your information, I am back to my normal self. I mean, the clothes I wore last time were different. PFFT. I bet he was expecting me to become that classy girl. And it's not just like me.
And by the way,I'm Erika Marie Edwards and I'm a Sophomore college student and that stupid chase is a soccer player in our university and also a sophomore like me.
"Earth to Erika!, Hey!" Cassie said while waving her hand in front of my face
"Uh, sorry. What was it again Cass?" I said
"You're not paying attention again Rica. I said you were just looking at Alex, yah know?" she said smiling.
"No way. I am not looking at him Cass"
"Yes you are, lady. And look, he is going to sit here with US" she said it clearly at loudly.
And it's a one point for Cassie. True. He is on his way to our table. Good. Now what?
"Hey girls." He greeted and winked.
"Hey Alex, have you seen John?" she asked him comfortably
"No, I haven't seen him since after practice this morning" he answered her.
"Hey bookworm, how are you?" he said facing me
"I'm fine as ever. Now what do you want Alex?" I said straight to the point
"I was just being friendly you know?"
" You're not friendly. You're flirting." I corrected and stand up to walk out.
"Wait a sec, I'm not flirting at you and I'm here to make friends" he said smirking.
Uhhh! What else can I think when he is looking at me? Gosh. No. Erika stop it. Stop. Stop!
"Let me be your guy friend, bookworm. Please? I promise I'll be good." He winked
Should I? Hmm. Erika think. Please! Or else.. Uhm. No! Yes! I look at Cass for answer and she is telling me to say yes. Oh boy. So I'll just say yes for good.
"Uhh. Sure. Friends" I finally said it.
"Thanks bookworm"
Then he walk back to his friends and laugh and laugh. "Hey Cass, are they playing a bet on me? They are laughing! SEE!!!" I exclaimed. "Nahh. Believe me, Alex was so happy that you and him were now friends."
"Ugh. Let's see. If he is worth my time" I sighed.
Now that Alex and me are now friends. I don't know what to do anymore. This will be the start of my torment in this university. GREAT.
++Two days passed ++
Bookworm! Hey! Wait up!" someone called me at my back.
There's only one person who always call me by that name. ALEX. UGH! What does he want now?
"What?" I said facing him while he was running toward my place.
"Going somewhere tonight?" he said catching with me.
What does he think of me? A party goer? Oh c'mon I'm a bookworm, hell. And with that, I rolled my eyes and start walking again. "Hey. I'm talking to you bookworm!" He said.
"No, I'm going to stay in my house. At my room. Happy now? Just leave me alone.
We're friends right?" I explain rudely.
"How about going to the park this evening? You know they're putting up something there. Wanna see it? And oh, Cass and John will be there too." He said.
"I have stuffs to do Alex, so I think it's a big "No" for now, okay?" I said.
"Okay. If that's what you want to do bookworm" then he scratched the back of his neck.
"Yeah.." I said. Yeah? Dammit. That's the only word I said? Urgh.
"So, I guess I'll see you later huh?" he said.
"Yeah. Later Alex." I said.
I sighed, and then walk towards my next class.
