Falling For The Ignorance - Chapter Two

Second Chapter in the amnesia based kidnap story.
There are a lot of things I would like to wake up to after a hard day.
A cuddle from that special someone and a kiss on the head reassuring me everything is going to be ok and they'll be there for me.
A warm bed where the sheets envelope me in a cocoon where I am safe.
Even a nudge of a wet nose from a loyal companion dog or an attentive cat would have been nice.
What happened when I woke up? I can list three things that were wrong even before I opened my eyes.
Number one I still could not remember my name or my eye color.
Number two I was led in silence, which is never a good sign when I can't hear birds chirping or even insects crawling around.
Number three was that my head still hurt with the intensity of the sun and I could still feel blood trickle down my cheek.

It didn't get better when I opened my eyes.
I would've preferred the field to be quite honest.

My wrists were bound with rope that rubbed and burnt against my skin whenever I moved even slightly. My feet were tied together with a separate piece of rope that laced tightly under my jeans that had been pushed halfway up my legs tearing them slightly seeing as they were skinny jeans. My legs were raw to feel from scraping them across the floor beneath me but I had to if my limbs were to stay awake.
And still no sign of my captors.

I wasn't even sure that my eyes were still open but the movement of my eyelids told me that I was blinking. Although I may have already gone crazy.
Pure and untainted darkness so I couldn't even make out the shape of a door or a window. The room could have been an endless corridor and I couldn't even tell because I was stuck in one corner of it.

It was true that I wasn't taped down but my limbs - although able to move when I concentrated - were too weak and painful to carry myself to another part of my dungeon. It was like I was drugged and, as I had only been awake for at most an hour. I didn't know if it would wear off.

I just had to wait.

I flickered my eyelids open after my mind drifted off once more and something was different. There was an object blocking in front of me that wasn't there before. I couldn't see it but I sensed it and felt it as the large thing moved side to side.
I then realized that my mind had been too fuzzy to attempt to speak and now that it was slightly clearer I tried to force out a sound. However every time my mouth opened only a release of air could be heard. I kept trying as the object continued to make movements only a few steps away from me. It was making a lot of noise as if it were searching for something. A light might be nice.
I was focusing on speaking and finally managed to whimper out loud, to which a swift movement was given in return. I guess it didn't like that.

"Awake?" A male voice asked as it traveled down my spine and made me shiver in fear. Fear of the unknown. The man continued with his noise making and once it had died down in my ears, moved closer towards me. I saw a sharp blinding light being shined into my eyes but as it was so intensified it took away all my vision once more. Be careful what you wish for. "Pupils are dilated." The man noted. Of course they are dilated I had been kept in a dark room for so long no bright light could shrink them within a matter of seconds.
It was then when I realized there were two people in the room. The man with the torch that I had heard the voice of and another person hid in the background. My vision was full of brightly colored dots from the light but I could still see that there was no light. I wanted to ask how they managed to see but it was obvious but the amount of time that it took the guy to find a torch that they could see just as well as me. Perhaps even worse if that was possible. I whimpered once more in a dire attempt to conjugate some words.

"Calm down you'll be down again soon." The male voice calmed me in a not-calming manner. He made me out to be like some kind of animal. Which posed the question once more: What was he going to do with me? Shoot me like a horse with a bad leg or put me down with a toxic drug like an old dog. I felt a sharp prick in my arm. Definitely a toxic drug that would kill me.

I whimpered once more but managed it louder this time. I tried it out a few times until it was finally understandable. "Don't." My throat being dry made my voice sound raspy but I didn't care I just wanted to be heard.

"You'll be difficult otherwise." I'll be more difficult than if I were dead - true - but I could stay quiet. I shook my head as fast as it could go ignoring the fact that they couldn't see me.

"Don't." My body began to shiver under the liquid that I felt be pumped into my blood. I began to shake hoping that my body would reject the deadly toxin. "Don't." My only word became weak and meaningless. It sounded made up to me by the amount of times I had prayed it in my head.

"There, there. You'll be ok." He said stroking my hair back from my sweaty face. "Hand me the knife." In my barely clear minded state I became petrified. I still knew what knife meant and I still knew that it was sharp. But I couldn't dwell on it too long because the darkness took over me and sent me into relaxation: With relaxation being a loose term.
