Fall Activities for Kids

Fall activities for kids are an ideal way to have some fun in autumn. I know the temperature is low, but doing some fun activities in the fall season makes it worthwhile.
Finally the season of shedding leaves is here. Autumn marks the changing of summer season to winter. Summer isn't the only season for enjoyment. There are plenty of joyful activities that can be done in the season of fall also. I know the temperature is low but that doesn't mean you have to hide in your blanket and come out next spring. Kids love autumn and indulging in some fun activities makes it more enjoyable. It's the perfect weather, leaf colors are changing, the days are shorter. The moon looks big in size and Halloween is creeping in.

Indoor Fall Activities for Kids

You can bring in some dried leaves, fake pumpkins and imitation gourds and let your kids explore their creativity. Every kid loves seasonal crafts. Your child's age doesn't matter, you can certainly find some of the wonderful fun activities which will keep the kid busy and at the same time happy in autumn.

Grapevine and Dried Leaves
This autumn let's decorate your house with a grapevine wreath that your kid can create with your help or by him/herself. Advise your kid to gather leaves from your backyard to stick in the wreath, until he's created a design of a halo. See where he/she hangs it in your house.

Scrapbook made from Leaves
Let's make a leaf scrapbook with your child. You can help your kid to decorate the cover of the photo album with leaf drawings or pictures. Then both of you take a walk outside and search for the most unusual and pretty looking leaves to stick in your scrapbook.

Pumpkin Painting Party
Organize a pumpkin party session with your kid and his/her friends. Provide each child his/her own pumpkin and paints required for decorating. A popular evening activity, to keep the house stain free try doing this paint meeting outside if the weather is pleasant.

Outdoor Fall Activities for Kids

The fall comes with leaves changing colors and cool breeze blowing outside your home. The cooler days of fall are a great time to plan some outdoor activities for kids.

An Apple Farm Visit
Apples are in abundance during fall. Go out and see an apple farm. If you reside in the city you might have drive up all the way to the country side, but this road trip can also be an exciting and educational experience. You may find apple farms in rural areas that are set up for visitors and also offer playgrounds for children.

Collect Various Types of Leaves
Collecting various type and color leaves is one of the best fall activities. Take your kid for a walk in the park and collect all the different type of fallen leaves which you can find. You can also make a connection of pine cones, acorns and horse chestnuts. Kids can collect various nuts for squirrels. Kids also enjoy breaking up the green shell of the horse chestnut to find glossy nuts inside.

Visit a Pumpkin Patch
One of the best fall activities for preschoolers. Ever thought buying pumpkin could be fun, well now it is. Drive with your kids directly to a pumpkin patch and let them select the best pumpkin there. Purchase some big ones so that you can also store them for Halloween and some with small size so that they can be used for decoration around the house.
