Faith and Surrender

If you let God work in you, He will do much more then you can dream of! Just surrender your life to Him and you will see for yourself!
Faith and Surrender
In the Christian life we have certain things that we have to do, certain things that God calls us to do, but we have to understand that He does not just tell us what to do and then that is it. He also gives us certain things and rewards us for our obedience, and we will also reap our rewards for disobedience…we reap what we sow.

"But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire." Matthew 3:7-10

The Pharisees and the Sadducees were basically hypocrites…and they came and showed themselves at the baptism, but Jesus catches them and warns them that it is not Abraham that will get them into heaven. These people were not even saved and yet they tried their best to fool everybody into believing that they were the holiest of people.

The first thing that we have to do is be saved; a person that is not saved, cannot do anything for God because there is a wall of separation between the two, only through salvation is that wall brought down and only then is that person able to actually do something for the Lord. It is not an uncommon thing to see a person that is not saved serving the Lord, there have been many pastors and great teachers that have done mighty things before thousands of people and years later on their death beds they confessed to the fact that the Lord was not in any of it because they had never even come to know Him as a personal savior.

"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Now that we got the need to be saved down, here is another Bible verse that is essential to the active Christian. God many times asks us to do certain things and many times we say, "no Lord I cannot do that because I am too weak", but take a look at the Bible verse above. The key words in that verse are not "I can", the key words are "through Christ". When we let Christ have full control in our lives, it is then that we will see things done that we never thought possible.

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21

God is able to do more then we ever imagined through us and through those people that will give themselves over to God completely. God really cannot do anything with a Christian that does not have the faith and trust to let God take control of his life, God cannot do anything with the person that will not let God lead him and take him not only through the good times but the bad as well. How can God bless a person and do exceedingly abundant above all that is asked and thought, if that person does not let the Lord mold him into the Christian that God wants him to be? It all comes down to faith and surrender.

There is that Bible verse that talks about being crucified with Christ, and then the author says something interesting, he says that he lives but not really, he says that it is really Christ living in him.

That is the key right there, we need to let Christ live in us, it is time to put away all those earthly desires and all that pride and all those doubts and just let Christ live in us and through us…it is then that the blessing of the Lord will come and then we will start to see some fruits in our life.
