Faded Pages

A plea to help a friend in need.
Like a book of faded pages,
I can't read you anymore,
Your eyes, they show a sadness,
But I don't know what it's for.
I opened up my arms for you,
But you declined to step inside,
Tell me what more can I do,
To help ease your worried mind.

How innocent, the child like tears,
That roll down from your eyes?
Leaving water marks on you cheeks,
With black mascara lines.
Please talk to me and let me know,
What caused the pain you've found,
And maybe then I could read,
The faded pages of your mind.

You know that I am here for you,
If you ever need to talk,
But as for now, I'll give you space,
And leave you with your thoughts.
You can always leave a message,
Via e-mail, text or phone,
And whenever you are ready,
I'll be there to take you home.

You may already know this,
But I have also shed some tears,
Because when you're sad my heart aches,
And my soul is filled with fear.
I hate to see your sadness,
It fills me with despair,
And a longing to embrace you,
To show just how much I care.

So let me be your rock, my friend,
Let me help you ease the pressure,
That hangs so heavy on your heart,
Let me replace it with pleasure.
And let me see you smile again,
I haven't seen you smile in ages,
Dry the tears that erased the ink,
And I'll re-write your faded pages.
