Eyeliner Techniques
Eyeliner application is not just limited to lining your upper lashes with a thick black line. Read on to know the various eyeliner techniques that you can make use of to give your eyes a different look.

Eyeliner Tips and Tricks
Choosing the Right Color
It is very important to choose the eyeliner color that suits your eye the most. If a woman has light-colored eyes, she should go in for brown, charcoal and navy-colored eyeliner. A woman with black or brown eyes, should choose eyeliner of plum or brown color. For a soft look, pencil eyeliners should be used, and to give the eyes a dramatic look, use liquid eyeliners.
Liquid Eyeliner
Instead of opting for the traditional way to apply liquid eyeliner, be creative once in a while to give your eyes a different look. Start with lining the upper lashes with a different color eyeliner such as bronze or pink or blue glitter. The line should be thin in the inner corner of the eyes, medium thickness towards the middle and very thick near the end of the eye. When this line is dry, take a black eyeliner and apply a thin line with it very close to the lashes. It will give a very trendy and classy look to your eyes.
Another simple way is to apply black eyeliner on the upper lashes in the regular traditional way, and follow it up with a shimmer pencil on this black line.
Pencil Eyeliner
Pencil eyeliner is comparatively more easy to use than a liquid eyeliner. Line the upper lashes by starting from the middle of the eye, towards the outer corner, followed by going to the inner corner of the eye and sweeping the pencil towards the middle of the eye. Another way is to simply smudge it a bit after application, with a cotton swab, for a subtle and natural look.
Eyeliner Techniques for Eye Shapes
For large eyes, any of the designs such as classic, smoky, dramatic or goth can be used, as everything suits naturally big eyes. However, for small eyes, special attention is necessary for the application of eyeliner since a wrong technique can make the eyes look even smaller. For small eyes, preferably, liquid eyeliner should be used. Dark eyeliners such as black or brown should be avoided on very small eyes. Instead one should opt for blue or plum-colored eyeliner. Apply the liner from the inner corner of the eyes, towards the outer corner, but slightly away from the outer corner and ending the eyeliner line, just at the outer edge of the eye. Another way to make the eyes look large is to apply the eyeliner from the center of the eye, instead of the inner corner and ending it the same way as described above.
One last tip on eye makeup before I sign off - Keep the eye makeup subtle in the morning by applying a pencil eyeliner or a light shade of liquid eyeliner, and dark and bright at night, by applying a black or a dark brown eyeliner, for gorgeous looking eyes.
