Symptoms of the Infection
A bump or pimple like thing will appear near the pierced area. Another symptom is swelling of the area. Reddening of the area is also observed. In some cases, discharge of pus and blood will be seen. Irritation and itching will also be experienced in that area. It might hurt a lot. Most of the eyebrow piercings hurt. But, the hurt caused due to the infection will be very severe.

Treatment Options
The pierced area should be washed regularly with warm water and mild soap so that all the dirt is cleaned. Also, take care that dirt does not accumulate in the pierced area. Regularly applying ice will also help. Ice will numb the area thus, you will not experience any kind of pain. It will also, help in reduction of swelling. Applying antibacterial ointment will help in alleviating the infection.

Aftercare for Eyebrow Piercing
The eyebrow piercing healing process does take a lot of time. At least, 5 to 6 weeks are required for complete healing. After piercing, proper care should be taken else, the infection might intensify. Proper care should be taken after piercing to avoid the infection due to piercing. While sleeping, make sure that the pierce is not knocked else, it might lead to various infections and pain. Also make sure that nothing hits the piercing. Proper care should be taken and the piercing should be kept away from all kinds of risks. Since, this piercing is very much near the eye and also the underlying nerves are near the piercing, the damage to the eyebrow piercing can lead to serious problems.

If the area is affected a lot due to the piercing, it is better to remove the jewelry and allow the area to heal. For removing the jewelry, it is better if you get it removed from the person who had pierced it. Avoid removing the jewelry at home. As, while removing it yourself, there are chances that you might hurt the infection more. Removing the jewelry will help in faster healing process. You can remove the jewelry temporarily and after the piercing has healed completely, you can again put it. If it is showing some other medical symptoms, then it is better if you visit the doctor and opt for the treatment suggested by him.
