Eye Tracking Exercises for Children

Exercise 1
This exercise can be performed by the kid himself. Take a pencil or pen and hold it in your hand. Place the pencil right in front of the face and then slowly bring it closer. Then again take the pencil away from you slowly. Repeat this exercise for 10 minutes and then relax your eyes. This helps to improve the focus and track the target more efficiently.

Exercise 2
Tie a ball with a string and swing it side by side. Ask your child to concentrate on the ball without moving the head. It can also become fun if you tie the ball and ask your child to hit it with a bat. This will improve the concentration and the judgment for the target. Exercise 3

Give two nearly similar images and ask the child to find out differences between them. Make the images in such a way that they may have 5 to 10 different thing or missing objects. Exercise 5
Go to a dark room with a lamp or a torch, flash the light on some things and ask the child to identify the things. Take the torch light all over the room and ask your child to follow the light with his eyes without moving from his place. Exercise 6
Hold two pencils. One pencil in one hand. Both of different colors, say one red and the other yellow. Now ask the child to follow your instruction. When you say red ask him to see red color pencil and when you say yellow he should watch yellow color pencil. Do this exercise for 10 minutes. This will improve his tracking ability and will also help him to concentrate on your instructions.

Exercise 7
Give ball to you kid and ask him to throw the ball and then catch it. It may sound very simple but it is one of the most effective exercises for keeping coordination between eyes and hands. If your kid tends to throw the ball in a random manner then draw a circle around him and then ask him to throw and catch the ball without getting out of the circle. This will make his throws more orderly and liner which in turn will increase his concentration.
