Everyone has used some excuses to get out of work at some point of time, and more often than not, these excuses actually work. Read on to know more.
Work can be quite tiresome and cumbersome for many people, and this has intensified the need for some effective excuses to get out of work. There are a multitude of excuses that can be used, and many of these can sound very real and genuine if you go about it in the right manner. The kind of excuses for not going to work that you can use can range from sympathetic, to disgusting, to hilarious and sometimes just plain ludicrous. Use your ingenuity and ensure that you do not get caught, and all will be well when you use some of these excuses to get out of work.

Getting out of work early is something everyone longs for, but not many people achieve. Using an appropriate excuse can make all the difference though. Try some of these good excuses to get out of work early.
  • My kids are stuck outside and do not have the keys.
  • The Gas Department/Water Department has to read my meter, and they could only come now.
  • My child is graduating today and I must visit the ceremony.
  • My pet has a rash and this is the only time that the veterinarian is free.
  • My body part aches. Use whichever body part you deem appropriate.
  • I have to go to the airport to pick up someone.
  • I have an appointment with the eye doctor.
  • I'm having a tax audit today.
  • I have to get my driver's license renewed.
  • I have to go to the police station to give evidence.
  • You contracted a severe bout of bronchitis, or swine flu.
  • You have to undergo a complicated surgical procedure that will take about a week to recover from.
  • You need to fly to Europe to meet your estranged daughter from your first wife.
  • You have an out of state 'family emergency'.
  • Fake some kind of sickness.
  • Talk about some family problem or commitment that you need to attend to.
  • Use a medical appointment of some sort.
  • I'm at the police station for an incident.
  • I have food poisoning.
  • I have serious car trouble and I need to get it looked at.
  • I'm on medications and I can't work like this.
  • I have a wedding to attend.
  • I've had an allergic reaction to ______. I need a day to recover now.
  • You got lice in your hair and have to go visit a doctor.
Some people make excuses to get out of work for an interview for another job. In such cases it is even more important that you come up with a good one, as angering your boss for this reason is not a very good idea. After all you do need to maintain and follow some set of workplace ethics. All in all, use excuses that sound a tad believable. Don't use things that are over the top and unrealistic, and don't overuse these excuses to get out of work.
