Every Single Day

Anti-valentine. REALLY late but......*smiles sheepishly* I forgot to post it.
Flowers and chocolates,
why do we participate?
All it does,
is make us sad.
Why prove it?
We could just leave it up to fate.

Shops overflowing,
hearts breaking everywhere,
people go mad.
How is this fair?

We spend our money,
on someone we love.
But if we truly love them,
why do we only show it for one day?
Love should be shown,
all year round,
June to March
from April to May.

Hiding it most of the time,
isn't right.
If we show it every day,
and every night.
Then Valentines Day has no point.

Our money is taken,
we give it blindly.
Maybe they like it,
maybe they don't.
But ten minutes later,
it is forsaken.

Chances are taken,
decisions are broken.
All because,
they forgot their token,
of appreciation and love.
Some give a kiss,
some give a dove.
But all are meant as a show of love.

We celebrate a day,
the meaning of which we do not know.
A saint that we follow,
but can not explain.
All we need to do,
is to say,
three words that would make their day.

If said daily,
they would save,
the cost,
and heartbreak,
of Valentine's Day.

All that you have to say,
is I love you.
Every single day.
