Everlasting

A tribute to whom it concerns.
A choir of candles emits
A small glimmer of your grace

Towards your embroidered picture they shine
You smiling perky face

As I dwell quietly
I can sense your seldom spirit

As the scent of your presence lingers
It brings forth your past virtues and merit

As we gather here tonight to remember
All the works of your life

Lifting heartfelt prayers in silence
Hoping that they would suffice
(For the expense that you may entice)

I can picture us laughing
All the memories reenacting

Do I cherish this moment reminiscing
Your gifts, your love everlasting

But the final bells have rung
As do the restless amass

In your wooden casket you rest in peace now
My final rose to you against the glass

Our bonds still there
As I am left to appreciate

All you have done on this world
And its good to know now,
your in a better place

And though I cannot choose
the way for you to pass away

I can still choose how I want to remember you
regardless of what the world will say
