Eva Longoria & Tony Parker Engaged

Liza Anderson, Longoria’s rep, said, "I am thrilled to announce that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, who have been dating steadily for two years, are officially engaged." Anderson continued, "Tony flew into Los Angeles last night after his game and surprised Eva at her home as she got off work. The proposal was romantic and perfect." It has been reported that the wedding will take place some time next summer in France. The couple wants a "big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends."

Longoria, 31, and Parker, 22, met in November 2004 in the locker room after a Spurs’ game. They reportedly began dating in January 2005. Last year, Longoria said in an interview that the couple was not ready for marriage. She said, "We’re just totally happy where we’re at right now. No, we’re actually very clear about when we want to be engaged, and if we want to be engaged, and when the wedding is and it’s nowhere in 2006." The couple split briefly in September but rekindled their romance a month later in Paris.

Longoria is starring as Gabrielle Solis in the third season of ABC’s Desperate Housewives. She also has roles in two feature films Harsh Times and The Sentinel. Parker is a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs. This will be Parker’s first trip down the aisle. Longoria was married to General Hospital’s Tyler Christopher for two years. The couple divorced in 2002. Longoria has stated that she expects to stay with Parker "forever" so hopefully they are able to withstand the Hollywood curse that strikes so many couple’s in Hollywood.
