European Facial Massage Techniques

European facial massage is a great way to relieve stress from your face, at the same time you will get a glowing skin. There are certain stages and techniques involved in European face massage, which makes this facial very popular.
Facials and face clean-up treatments are offered at various beauty parlors and salons. These are beauty treatments which greatly help to clean up the skin and give it a healthy glow. However, there is a difference between face clean-ups and facials. Facials involve a lot of massage, which can last for 10 minutes or more. This is because facials are not just used to clean-up the skin but also to get rid of facial stress. It is said that most of the stress is stored in the face. Hence, a facial can be very effective to get rid of stress. Also, it helps to keep the skin looking young. One of the most popular type of facial is the European facial massage. This massage involves different stages in which various techniques are used. This massage techniques are simple and good for beginners. Also, this is one of the most affordable facial.

European Face Massage

Cleansing: This step is used to remove make-up, dirt or dust from the face. In this step, the beautician will use a cleanser which can be water or cream based. This cleanser will be applied on a cotton ball and then your face will be wiped with it. However, some beautician tend to apply face cleansing lotion on the face and then massage the face for 2 minutes, using simple circular motions. Then the face and neck is cleaned with cotton balls.

Steaming: This step is done to make the skin soft which also makes the blackheads, whiteheads and pimples soft. This step helps to remove acne easily from the skin as the skin pores open by steaming. The beautician will ask you to sit up and take steam, or will apply it using on your face with a portable steamer. For 2 minutes or more the steam will be applied. If you have severe acne, then more steam will be applied.

Exfoliation: Exfoliation is done to get rid of dead and dry skin. It also helps to get rid of blackheads, whiteheads, and zits. So, a scrub is used on the face, neck and ears. The beautician will keep scrubbing your face by circular motion of the fingertips. Sometimes around the nose and chin straight to-and-fro motions of the thumb are used. The beautician will do this for few minutes. After this the beautician will wipe your face again with water and cotton. Then with a tissue or a blackhead extractor, all the acne will be removed. This step can be quite painful to some people. If you don't want to use an extractor or tissue to remove acne, then you can ask the beautician to skip this step.

Face Mask: Then to close the skin pores, a face mask is applied with fingertips or with a brush. The face mask depends upon the skin type of the client, which can be oily, dry, acne prone, sensitive, etc. The face mask is kept for 10-20 minutes, after which it is removed by wiping with wet cotton balls. In this stage mostly, cucumber slice or cotton pads dipped in rose-water are kept over the eyes.

Massage: Finally, starts the facial massage. However, many parlors include upper back, neck and shoulder massage too in a European facial massage. The beautician will take lotion in their hands, and start massaging your face, neck and back and a bit of the upper chest area. For this they will use varied pressure and motions. Mostly, circular motions are used all over the face. However, sometimes straight motions of the thumbs are used near the chin and nose. Also, applying pressure using finger-tips around the eyes is done. The fingertips are pressed on the forehead and between the eyebrows. After 10-15 minutes the massage and the beauty treatment will finish.
