Eternal Thirst - Chapter 9

Chaos's SOS

"Em... wake up... wake up" I whispered to her. She slept peacefully in her bed, and I didn't want to wake her. She looked really adorable, but it's time to handle business, and she's my search partner.

"Chaos?"
"Hey Em... good morning!" I said to her

"OH MY GOSH CHAOS!" she screamed as she pulled the covers over her head.
"Why are you hiding from me?"

"Because, I have morning breath, and I look like crap" she said
"You look beautiful to me, and I couldn't even smell your breath... now come on and get out of bed." I told her
She shook her head under the covers, saying no.
"Aw come on you big baby!" I teased

"I AM NOT A BABY!" she said jumping up.
"I knew that would get you up" i said

She looked at me in terror, and ran over to her mirror.
"OH THANK GOD! my hair is in a bun!" she said

I just laughed and walked close to her. I grabbed her bun, and unraveled it, letting her hair fall.
"Thanks" she said blushing and looking down

"You know, you look really adorable when I make you nervous" I said
"You don't make me nervous!" she said

"Oh yeah?"
"YEAH!" she said

"Then why is it, that when I... grab your hand you shiver... or when I call you beautiful, you blush.. OR, when I whisper in your ear like I am now, your body goes into a hormonal frenzy?"

"Th- tha- that's not... it's not- ummm" she stuttered while gently chewing on her bottom lip.
"I call that nervous" I whispered

I grabbed her waist, and pulled her body against mine. I leaned down closer to her, and ran my palm up her shirt. I brushed my lips against mine, and I could feel goose bumps rising on her skin. Then I pulled back.

"Okay come on get dressed it's time to get started!" I exclaimed while preparing to walk out of her door.
"Cha- Chaos, you- you..."

"Yeah I did...well you need to get dressed!" I said, and then I walked out.

Emylee's SOS

OH MY GOSH HE IS SUCH A TEASE!

I ran to my shower. and after a good 20 minutes, I hopped out and went to my closet to find some clothes.

I opened my window to feel the temperature. It was about 65℉ so I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans, some blue hightop converse, and my plaid quarter sleeve blue and white button up shirt. It was meant to wear a long cami underneath, but my style is any shirt that shows off my abs.

Hell I worked hard to get them, so I might as well show them.
I got downstairs, and everyone was eating breakfast. I said good morning to Jayne, Serenity, and Rain. Then I looked at Shadow

"Good morning Shadow" I said in a soft tone
"Good morning Emylee" he said.

He said my whole name, and I knew he hated me. I sat through breakfast, holding in tears that were fighting to come out. The fact that I was sitting right next to shadow didn't help. I didn't understand why I wanted to cry so badly, but i did.

That's it, I can't take it anymore. I got up from my seat, and ran up the stairs. Chaos was right behind me.
"What's wrong?" he asked

"Nothing I was just... thinking of my mom is all" I lied. I did everything to keep shadow from popping in my mind. I didn't want chaos to know.
Shadow was my friend, and I really care for him. I like him too, a little more than I should. But Chaos, I REALLY like him. he's sweet and funny, and adorable. I'm not ready to drop another good guy, and wait for shadow to ask me out, I won't do it!

"Hey... how about we just hang out today after the man hunt. We could go somewhere alone, and get to know each other better." he said
"That sounds way more than great... but no fancy smancy restaurants okay, let's do something fun!"
"Anything for you!" he chimed. He was so adorable

After getting clues, and training for 5 hours, we finally had a strategy. We had to kill Akari first. She's the most dangerous right now. She could enslave us all again, and that's something we don't need.

"Okay guys, so we train, were going to need months to be able to defeat Akari. From what me and Serenity heard today, the won't be attacking until at least 3 months from now. So we must all... except Emylee, be ready, GOT THAT!?"

We all nodded our heads, we could possibly have a war ahead of us.

"Hey... where you wanna go?" he asked
"Hmmm... let's go to an amusement park!" I said

"Okay, sounds fun!" he said

Chaos's SOS

We raced all the way to the amusement park. It was a complete tie. When we got to the ticket booth, both me and Emylee pulled out our wallets.
"Em... I got it!" I told her
"No, I pay for mine, you pay for yours!" she said

"No Em, let me get it!" I said

"If you pay for my ticket then I'm not going in!" she said
"You know, your extremely stubborn" I said
"So I've been told"

"Excuse me sir, ma'am your holding up the line." the man said
"I'm paying for your ticket, and you will go in, and we will have fun... got that!" I said

"Nope!"
"EMYLEE!" I shouted

"WHAT!" she shouted back
I didn't know she was this stubborn, I guess she doesn't back down until she gets what she wants.

"Come on Em, please, just this once.. it's our first date, let me have my pride!" I said
I gave her the sad face, and she easily gave in.
"Okay..." she whispered

I turned to the man
"TWO PLEASE!"

"SO, what are we riding first?" she asked
"Let's get on a roller coaster!" I said

"Which one?"

"That one!" I said. I pointed to the biggest one. I expected her to be scared, but she wasn't at all.
"OH HELL YEAH COME ON!!!" she yelled and grabbed my hand

I grabbed her back, she started to go in her inhuman speed
"EM! you have to run regular remember!"
"Oh I didn't even notice... sorry!" she said

"COME ON LET'S GET ON!" she said and pulled me again

"That was so FUN!" she said
"Yeah, it was really cool! now let's go get some food." I said

"GOSH! I'm hot!" Emylee said. she started to unbutton her shirt, and I put my hands over her
"EM! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"I'm taking this shirt off, it's hot!" she said, pointing out the obvious.
"You can't walk around half naked in front of all these people!"

"Chaos, relax, hahahahahaaaa, I have a cami under here!" she said
"Seriously? Well I can't see it!" I said

"That's because it's shortcut... like my shirt." she said and then burst into laughter.
"WHAT'S SO FUNNY!?" I asked her

"Did you- hahaha- did- hahahaaa- did you seriously think- hahaa- I'd get naked in front of a million strangers?" she asked
"Well, no but I just panicked!"

I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I guess I'm protective of her.
"Hey come on... let's get some food, and then get on some more rides." I said

We got some pizza, and sat down the table.

Emylee's SOS

"Man, I want some fries, I'll be right back babe" Chaos said, he kissed me on the cheek, and walked to the food booth.
I blushed. HE CALLED ME BABE!
I found myself blushing a lot at the stuff he does.

I was so in the daze, I hadn't realized my soda was about to fall, and then SPLASH!
the whole thing was on the ground
"kill me!" I whispered

It was a bugs bunny cup that I paid $12 for. I wanted to check if it was broken. I bent over to pick it up, but it rolled.
"Wow this is annoying, now I have to get up" I whispered to myself

I bent over to pick it up, right next to some guy's table
"WHOA! NICE TITS!" he said

What is with everyone saying that to me, I swear I'm getting a breast reduction
I stood up, and glared at him.

"So... you here all alone, why don't you sit with us?" he said
"Psssh, after that sexist womanizing comment, I think I'd be better off alone." I said

"Awww why you gotta be like that babe?"
"Don't call me babe you disgusting pig!" i spat

"Ha, well maybe if you come home with me tonight I can show you how much of a pig I am" he said

Really is that his pick up line...eww
"Oh.. Really" I said in a seductive tone as I lay my hand on his chest and pushed him down on his seat.
"Yeah..."

"Well, tell me what you wanna do" I said seductively
"I think i can show you better than I can tell you!" he said

"Hmmmm, well you want to know what I think" still seductive
"Yes, tell me"
"I can show you better than I can tell you"
"Well hows about later you show me?" he said

"How about I show you know" I said
"Okay... show me now" he said eagerly

I grabbed the icy soda from behind him, and dumped the entire thing on his head
"I THINK YOU'RE A DISGUSTING PIG WHO I WOULD NEVER HOOK UP WITH EVEN IF SOMEONE HELD A GUN TO MY HEAD!"
"YOU BITCH!" he said, and then violently grabbed my arm. I was just about to make my move when I heard

"Hey asshole, weren't you ever taught to keep your hands off a lady!" Chaos said angrily
"I see no lady, the only thing I see is a bitch who is a tease and doesn't know when to and when not to act."

~Chaos, calm down, don't worry about him!~
~No Em, I'll kill him for speaking to you like that~

~Chaos, NO! let's just leave~

He shoved my arm off him, and then I watched his fists ball up. He drew them back, and punched the guy dead in the face.
I heard his nose, forehead, and Jaw crack. He was out cold.

I looked at Chaos, and ran out of the park. I made sure to run in my normal human speed.

"EM! EM! EM! WAIT STOP!"

My breathing was rough and short. I had never been out of breath from running. I realized it wasn't the running, I was hyperventilating.
I thought that because I was immortal, things like this could never happen. I couldn't breathe at the thought of the guy being dead because of Chaos's hard blow.

I didn't know for sure if he was dead, but i did hear his head crack.
"CHA- CHAOS! HE- HE COULD BE DEAD! HE COULD BE DEAD!" I said hardly breathing
"EM! Calm down please, I'm so sorry, just breathe, or stop breathing, calm down!" he said

It took me about 5 minutes to finally relax, and then I ran, I ran all the way home.

I sat on the step for about an hour with my head in my knees. I wish Chaos would come over and just... just hold me. When I ran he didn't follow me, and It kind of gave me a pain in my chest.

Shadow's SOS

I heard quiet sobs coming from outside. Emylee and Chaos have been gone for hours, so I opened the door. Emy was sitting on the step balled up, with her head in her knees.

"Emylee... are you okay?" I asked

She looked up to me with tear filled eyes.
"Oh Emylee, what happened?"
"I was at the park with Chaos, and this guy started hitting on me, I poured his drink on his head, and when he grabbed me, chaos defended me and punched him in the face. I heard it- his skull- it- it cracked, and so did his nose, and his jaw. I heard it shadow, I think he's dead!" she said

I grabbed her, and held her close. She cried on my shoulder, and stopped after about 30 minutes

Chaos's SOS

I walked to Shadow's house hoping to speak to Em. I thought she was mad at me for punching the guy, and I wanted to give her time to cool down. I walked up, and I saw her crying. I was about to walk over when shadow came out of the house. They started talking. The last thing I heard was

"I heard it shadow, I think he's dead!"

My chest developed a sharp pain. She thought he was dead. I followed the guy and his friends to the hospital. I got into the room after they left. He wasn't dead, but damn near it. He was in a coma. I shattered his nose, broke his jaw, and cracked his skull in 6 places. I'm a monster.

I see the way Shadow looks at Emylee. I can tell the way he feels about her. The way he holds her, and the way he comforts her when she cries. I had no clue he loved her until now. I really like Em, and I want to be with her, but Shadow is my friend, and maybe she'd be better off with him.

I was about to walk away when I heard
"Chaos?"... it was her sweet voice.
"Yes Em?" I said coming out of the shadows

She jumped up from shadow, and sprinted over to me so fast, we both went down in the grass. She hugged me tightly, and kissed me.
"I missed you" she said in a low voice

I looked over to shadow, he had a painful look on his face. He looked down, and I saw a small smile.
Not a good one. He was thinking he'd rather for her to be happy and with me, than to be with him and unhappy.
The sharp pain in my chest returned.
_____________________________ (The next week.)

"Em... can I ask you something?"
"Yeah Chaos, anything" she said

"Do you have feelings for shadow?"
She was drinking water, and she began to choke on it.
"EM! ARE YOU OKAY!"
"Yeah, I'm good" she said in a raspy voice

"You don't have to answer my question if you don't want too." I said
"NO NO... you need to know... I do have feelings for shadow, I didn't know he liked me back until recently. When I broke up with my ex boyfriend, I thought shadow would ask me out, but he never did" she said

I just stayed quiet.
"Chaos, say something please" she begged
"So... am I just the back up guy... are you using me to get to him, or something?" I asked

"Oh, Cha- Chaos no, listen. I was dating a guy named Jeremy, since I was 14. For three years, I didn't understand why i never fell in love with him. I was confused, and then I met shadow, and after that, I mustered up the courage to finally break up with him, and when I did, I realized I wanted to be with Shadow. Shadow never seemed to have interest in me that way, but I know he does now. I could have stayed with Jeremy, and waited a little longer, because even though I didn't love him, was happy. Then I met you, and now I think you're the reason why I'm not with him anymore, and I refuse to not be with someone again, and wait for shadow because I can't, and I really like you.. SINCERELY! You're not the back up guy, and I'd never use you like that." she said

I just smiled at her, that's what I was hoping. I kissed her, and we made out for what seemed like hours.
"Hey, you wanna watch a movie?" she asked
"Yeah babe sure" I said

Emylee's SOS

HE CALLED ME BABE AGAIN! I wondered what I was to him. Was I a friend with benefits, a girl he was just dating, or was I his girlfriend. I know we've only been like THIS for about 2 weeks, not that I'm pressuring him, but it's just something girls need to know

"Hey, Chaos, can I ask you a question?"
"You just did" he laughed

"No... seriously" I said
"Umm, okay" he said concerned

"What am I to you... like, what are we?" I asked
"I don't get it" he said

"What is this between us, me and you, do we have a label, do we not have a label, do I have a label, because when someone comes up to me and asks who you are, what am I supposed to say?"

"Well, I kind of thought we were together, I mean that's what I thought, if that isn't what you want than I get it but... when people ask me who you are I say that's my girlfriend Emylee" he said

I smiled at him.
"I just didn't want to label us without your 'okay' I didn't want you to think I was pressuring you to be my... my boyfriend." I said
"It's no pressure... so were official now?" he asked
"Official!" I said as I held out my hand for him to shake it.
He gave me a confused look, and then pulled me in to kiss him.
The next thing I knew, we were laying down on the couch, with him on top of me. I started rubbing my hands under his shirt as usual, and he did the same to me.

"WHOOOOOO!!!!" we heard a voice behind us say
I blushed. "OH MY GOSH JAYNE!"
"whoo sexy sexy! I think you guys are steaming up the windows!" she said
"JAYNE! SHUT UP!" i giggled out of embarrassment.

Then I looked to my left, and saw shadow coming down the stairs. He looked at me and smiled. I could tell it wasn't real. Rain came in the room
"Okay guys, we train again, first thing tomorrow!"
"Yeah, that'd be a good idea." I said

"Okay well babe, I think I'm gonna go home, see you tomorrow!" Chaos said
"Okay!" I said

He walked out the door, and I was about to close it when he said
"WAIT EM!"
"Yes" I said

He ran back over to the door in less than a second.
"I forgot something?"
"What is it, did you leave it in my room?" I asked

"Haha, no" he said, he pulled me to him, and lifted me to meet his eye level, and kissed me again.
Then when it ended, he put me down and kissed my forehead. "goodnight!"

He ran out the door before I could reply. I had the hugest grin on my face, and my cheeks were burning.
I turned around, and Serenity and Jayne were staring at me with huge smiles plastered on their faces.

"DON'T SAY ANYTHING!" I warned them
"awwwwww!" they chimed

"Uggghhh I knew you guys would do that... quit it!" I said
"You and Chaos are so adorable!... wow, to think you actually hated each other!"
"I'm going to bed... goodnight!" I said

I ran to my room, and laid in my bed. I fell asleep thinking of Malinda and My mom, then my dad. This wasn't the most peaceful sleep, but it was filled with nightmares and flashbacks of my mom and dad's death.

I woke up 10 different times in the night. Wet eyes, and tear stained pillows.
