Basically, the job of an esthetician can be regarded as a mixed profile of various other jobs in this field. One must have completed a diploma and certification course in cosmetology or other related field of personality grooming to make a great career in this field. Nowadays, there are many vocational schools that offer these courses. The duration of these courses may be from six months to a year or two. Some schools offer these certification courses during evening, so that, people or students can learn these courses as per their comfort in the evening. Many estheticians work part-time in the salons and skin care units. They are generally taught basics of chemistry, anatomy and sciences related to the skin care. Since, some of them are also involved in selling the products of the skin care clinic, they are also taught basics of simple business and management skills.
As we can see, the job revolves around customers and clients, so it is important that they must be trained to deal with the impatient clients. Excellent communication skills are indeed necessary in this job. The salary range is usually between USD10,000 to USD60,000 and that depends on the amount of work experience one has in this industry.
