ESPN's Steve Phillips Caught in Fatal Attraction Affair with 22-Year-Old
ESPN's Steve Phillips is facing divorce and public humiliation after a 22-year-old co-worker whom he slept with began harassing his wife and kids.
ESPN baseball analyst and former general manager of the New York Mets Steve Phillips, is at the center of an ugly scene that involves him sleeping with a 22-year-old co-worker. Phillips has admitted to having a brief sexual affair with Brooke Hundley over the course of a few weeks in July of this year. Shortly afterward, Phillips told Hundley that the affair was over and it was at that point that she allegedly lost it and started exhibiting very disturbing and threatening behavior toward his family.
On August 5th, Phillips' wife Marni, who is also the mother of his four sons, began receiving phone calls and text messages from Hundley, claiming that she had information about her husband. She confronted Steve about the calls and he came home and admitted to the affair with Hundley.
A couple weeks after the calls started, Hundley left very detailed voice and text messages on Marni's phone. "The tone of the text message was, 'I care about Steve, I make him happy, and we both can't have him,' " Marni said. A few days after that message was left, Marni arrived home with one of her sons to find Hundley speeding out of her driveway, crashing into one of the stone columns in the front of their home. She had left a letter attached to the front door of the house, again detailing her relationship with Phillips.
It was later revealed that Hundley had been contacting Phillips' 16-year-old son on the Internet, usually through Facebook. She pretended to be a fellow student began asking increasingly detailed questions about his parents' relationship, even making up rumors that would support her claims to the boy's father. The investigation into Hundley and her behavior is ongoing. Marni Phillips filed for divorce from Steve and the house was deeded to her approximately 2 months ago.
It's important to note that Phillips resigned from his role as GM of the New York Mets after admitting to a sexual affair with one of his employees, who later sued him for sexual harassment. Looks like strike three for Steve Phillips.
