Episode 2 Team Effort

[Shina walks into the building and goes to the secretary’s desk]
Shina: "Mrs. Johnson… so how bad is it this time."
Mrs. Johnson: "It’s really bad, he’s been on a rant tantrum ever since he came in this morning… hold on, and I’ll let him know you’re here."
[Mrs. Johnson presses the speaker button]
Comogata: "YES WHAT IS IT NOW!"
Mrs. Johnson: "Sir, Ms. Inymota just arrived… do you want me to send her in now or…"
Comogata: "YES… YES JUST GET HER IN HERE NOW!"
Mrs. Johnson: "Yes sir, right away."
[Mrs. Johnson moves the phone to the corner of her desk her voice shook as she spoke]
Mrs. Johnson: "This doesn’t look good Shina… he sounds really upset."
Shina: "What Comogata on he’s period again?"
Mrs. Johnson: "I’m afraid so dear… but what about I don’t know."
[Shina retorts sarcastically]
Shina: "Well, that’s just great, but he’s always on his period so here goes."
Mrs. Johnson: "Best of luck dear, because the way he is today; you’re going to need it."
Shina: "Thanks… but I’ll be okay."
[Shina walked through the large brown oak doors into Comogata’s office]
[Travis who was sitting at the conference table next to Comogata looked up]
[Shina just stood there and waited to be acknowledged by Comogata]
[Travis whispered Shina’s presence to Comogata, he looked up and stared at her with a cold glance]
Comogata: "WELL… WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR SIT DOWN!"
[Shina took her sit next to Travis, Comogata got up and started pacing the room mumbling]
Shina: "So how long has he been like this?"
[Shina and Travis watched Comogata pace the room]
Travis: "Ever since, we watched the news and saw what happened this morning."
Shina: "Ever since he watched the news this morning huh… what did he say?"
Travis: "He turned on the TV. to catch the final report, as it was going on then he said something like you letting two janitors live was a disgrace… or something like that, he’s been like this ever since."
[Flack back to last night’s mission]
John: "Fine, just fine… she’s expecting another one soon."
Eric: "Really!? Is it a boy or a girl?"
John: "It’s a girl this time."
Eric: "Congratulations, John hey after we finish up here we’ll go out for drinks to celebrate."
[Present]
Shina: "Well, they weren’t worth the bullet… so as far as I’m concerned he can just go to hell."
Travis: "You seem confident this morning Shina."
Shina: "Of course I’m confident… I knew what this would be about as soon as I got the call this morning so I came prepared."
[Comogata turned to Shina and Travis… they went silent and listened to what he had to say]
Comogata: "You know out of all of the missions you’ve had… THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST… DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE DONE…? DO YOU?"
[Shina and Travis stayed silent]
Comogata: "THIS IS A FUCKING DISGRACE… IT’S AN OUTRAGE… IT’S A FUCKING EMBARASSMENT TO ME AND TO THIS ORGANIZATION!"
[Shina spoke in her defense]
Shina: "What I find embarrassing is that you send me out on a mission only to come back empty…"
[Comogata cuts Shina off]
Comogata: "THAT’S NOT AN EXCUSE SHINA… YOU’RE MISSION WAS TO KILL JERRY SON AND ANYONE ELSE THAT STOOD IN THE WAY!"
[Shina rose up from her seat in anger]
Comogata: "YOU FAILED TO DO THAT… BECAUSE YOU FAILED TO DO YOUR JOB HE GOT AWAY… DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW THAT MAKES ME LOOK?"
Shina: "TO HELL WITH YOUR REPUTATION, THAT HAS NOT A DAMN THING TO DO WITH ME… SO JUST, SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LISTEN… NOW, AS I SAID BEFORE SOMEBODY MUST HAVE TIPPED HIM OFF FROM THE INSIDE ABOUT ME COMING… WHICH BRINGS ABOUT HIS ESCAPE…AND AS FOR HIM LEAVING YOU EMPTY HANDED… WELL I SURE AS HELL WASN’T THE ONE WHO GOT SET UP WAS I?"
[Mrs. Johnson listened to the whole thing intensively on the speakerphone]
[Comogata paced the room again]
Comogata: "So what are you saying Shina that it’s my fault for leaving you empty-handed?"
[Shina snapped coldly]
Shina: "You don’t listen much do you, because if you were…"
[Shina pounds the table with her fist and breaks it in half]
"Then you would know that’s exactly what I’m saying."
[Travis whispered urgently in Shina’s ear]
Travis: "Shina if I could step in by saying you don’t know what you’re doing."
Shina: "I know exactly what I’m doing… don’t worry about me."
Comogata: "I’m disappointed in you Shina."
Shina: "Well… that makes two of us; because I’m more disappointed in you then you are in me."
[Travis clears his throat and changes the subject]
Travis: "So what’s this knew mission that you’ve put Shina on anyway."

Comogata: "I’ve been doing some thinking…and I’ve decided that Ken Takamora should be your next target but keep in mind that our friend Mr. Jerry Son should not be left out either…I would guess that after Shina’s performance that they would be in the same location… which was precisely my…"
[Shina retorts sarcastically]
Shina: "If you’re going to say that this was your plan in the first place… then do us all a favor and don’t."
[Comogata said nothing]
Shina: "So am I going alone or is Travis going with me."
Comogata: "No to both questions… that’s where these two come in."
[Comogata’s office door opened and two people walked in]
"To my left is Jin Kudoyama and to my right is Ayane…Ayane… I think it’s… fuck I forgot her last name."
Ayane: "It’s okay don’t worry about it, it’s not important right now."
[Comogata feeling embarrassed quickly clears his throat]
Comogata: "Yes of course well… Shina they will accompany you."
[Shina was puzzled]
Shina: "Okay that takes care of those two, but what’s Travis doing here."
Comogata: "Travis is your team’s adviser that’s why he’s here."
Shina: "HOLD IT, HOLD IT CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG BUT DID HE JUST SAY TEAM!"
Travis: "Yeah he did, but don’t worry you’re not the only one he’s done this to."
[Shina grabbed Travis by the collar]
Shina: "I DON’T DO TEAMS…I WORK ALONE…no offense to Jin and Ayane, but I work alone."
Jin: "So what’s our mission?"
Comogata: "Your mission is to infiltrate Takamora Industries…"
[Shina cut Comogata off]
Shina: "… and kill Ken Takamora, so that will give Jerry Son a motive to come out of hiding… my God you’re predictable."
Comogata: "That’s right; I see someone has been paying attention; so take them to the weapons room… so you can get started."
[Shina was deep in thought and didn’t hear Comogata]
[Comogata pounded his fist on what was left of the table]
Comogata: "SHINA!"
Shina: "WHAT…"
Comogata: "I said escort them to the weapons room; next time pay attention."
Shina: "Fine, you two follow me…"
[Shina Jin and Ayane left Comogata’s office]
[Brittiany and Spencer appeared in Comogata’s office]
Travis: "Sir, I’m going to leave now and help them prepare."
Comogata: "Very Well… I expect a full report on how the mission went"
Travis: "Yes sir… as you wish."
[Travis leaves out of Comogata’s office]
[Mrs. Johnson cuts off the speakerphone and pretends to do work]
[Travis looks over at Mrs. Johnson]

Travis: "You were listening the whole time weren’t you?"
Mrs. Johnson: "I was uhh… I must have… yes but listen to me Travis…a couple of suspicious people came in a few days ago, and requested an audience with Mr. Comogata, and ever since that meeting he hasn’t been the same."
Travis: "Well two people are in there now… listen I need you to record their conversation for me… its important."
Mrs. Johnson: "You do realize that I could lose my job over this right."
Travis: "Yes and I’m sorry to involve you like this, but I need to know something… and you’re the only person I know with enough resources to do it… so will you help me."
Mrs. Johnson: "Alright… but this is as far as I go."
Travis: "Thank you Mrs. Johnson"
[Mrs. Johnson turned on her speakerphone and slipped in a cd in the slot on the right of the phone and pressed record]
Spencer: "I’m impressed that you’ve manipulated Shina this far."
Comogata: "Yes making her believe that those two targets were actually a threat to us was genius."
Brittiany: "Yes it was, but please understand that there is a reason why our boss wants them dead."
Comogata: "I would assume so… I don’t want to keep sending my most talented assassins to do my brother’s dirty work."
Spencer: "I see…but don’t worry after this our boss won’t involve you any further."
Comogata: "I’m not following…"
[Travis and Mrs. Johnson listened closely from the speakerphone]
Brittiany: "Imagine if you will, Comogata if Shina were to discover how powerful she really is and that you of all people were responsible for the death of her parents, or that you brainwashed her into thinking the rest of her family were enemies of the U.A.C."
[Travis and Mrs. Johnson looked at each other with shocked expressions]
[Travis thought to himself]
Travis: "So he was behind this after all… I’ve got to tell Shina."
Comogata: "So what if I had to get rid of them, the only thing that’s important is that I have the most powerful of the Inymota clan… and not even my brother would dare to challenge me."
Spencer: "That’s true but just how long do you think you can keep a hold over Shina?"
Comogata: "I’m not following…"
Spencer: "It’s just like Brittiany said, what do you think will happen when Shina discovers the truth about everything… then think about what will happen to you."
Comogata: "Even if she were to discover what really happened, she will never turn on me."
Brittiany: "All I’m going to say is this, don’t underestimate her, she will find a way to break your control and once that happens your entire organization will fall."
Comogata: "I’m beginning to see your point, but still once she realizes what she’s done it’ll be too late."
Spencer: "You’re starting to see the point, but you’re still clueless."
Comogata: "WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?"
Brittiany: "Forget it Spencer, let him find out the hard way…"
Spencer: "Fine it’ll be a lot more fun that way anyway."
Comogata: "I will inform you when they are dead, now get out of my office."
Brittiany: "Very Well, you poor fool… let’s go Spencer."
[Brittiany and Spencer disappeared]
[Mrs. Johnson turned the speakerphone off and recording off]
Mrs. Johnson: "What will you do now, now that you know about this?"
Travis: "I’ve got to get to the Weapons Room… you just keep that recording in a safe place, for now and I’ll come back for it later."
Mrs. Johnson: "Alright I will, just be careful."
Travis: "Thanks…"
[Travis heads toward the Weapons Room thinking]
Travis: "So that’s what this is all about, Jerry Son and Ken Takamora are targets because if they saw Shina they will know that she’s been brain washed and any contact that she has with them might break his grip on her; but what’s the connection between Jerry Son, Ken Takamora, and Shina… there’s no time to waste I need to hurry and get to the Weapons Room."
[Travis turns left and runs down the hallway]
[Meanwhile Brittiany and Spencer stood on a nearby building]
Spencer: "Are you sure this is a good idea Brittiany?"
Brittiany: "Yes, after all the boss told me himself, that he thought that it was almost time for him to step down and that his usefulness in the plan is just about over; therefore, we need to make it our temporary mission to make Shina realize her full potential."
Spencer: "I get it, you’re only doing this because, you want to be the one to fight her."
Brittiany: "That was my original intention, but how much fun will it be if she were to…"
Spencer: "What… if she were to what?"
Brittiany: "You will see, come on we got to get back to H.Q."
Spencer: "Okay but I still want to know what you’re up to."
Brittiany: "All will be reveled in time, just be patient."
[Shina, Jin and Ayane walked in silence for a while until Ayane spoke up]
Ayane: "Ms. Inymota… I just wanted to say that I was impressed by the way that you stood up to that guy the way you did."
[Shina stopped walking and turning to Ayane]
Shina: "Thanks all in a day’s work and second just call me Shina… Ms. Inymota seems a little too formal."
Ayane: "Sure okay… Ms.Inymota… I’m sorry Shina."
Shina: "It’s alright it’ll take a while but you’re going to get used to it."
Jin: "So you’re Shina the mysterious-one Inymota, right."
Shina: "Yes, I am why do you ask?"
Jin: "I’ve been hearing a bunch of rumors about you, that all…"
Shina: "Well that doesn’t surprise me I do have quite a reputation."
[Travis yells after Shina]

Travis: "SHINA! WAIT FOR ME."
[Before they started walking, again they waited for Travis to catch up with them]
[Travis’s breathing was heavy when he stopped running to catch his breath]
Travis: "…Hey guys… sorry… I… took… so long."
Shina: "Not a problem Travis, we were almost there anyway."
Travis: "Shina, I need to speak with you privately… it’s very important."
Shina: "We will talk while they are getting their weapons… come on guys follow me."
[They finally made a left and entered the Weapons room]
[Shina opened the Weapons Room door]
Shina: "Alright Ayane and Jin pick your poison."
[Ayane wore a shocked expression on her face]
Ayane: "YOU ACTUALLY WANT US TO PICK OUT POISON!"
[Travis laughed]
Travis: "No…no it’s an expression that is used by the veterans here; what she meant was choose your weapon."
Ayane: "Oh…okay."
[Jin just silently shook his head]
Ayane: "Hey what’s that supposed to mean Jin?"
[Jin chooses his gun]
Jin: "Not a thing Ayane… not a thing."
[Shina walked outside with Travis and closes the door]
Shina: "So what’s up?"
Travis: "Shina, you can’t complete this mission tonight."
Shina: "Why not, what’s gotten into you all of a sudden… since when have you been so nervous about a mission."
Travis: "Since I’ve been doing so digging while you were out on your last mission; and it turns out that the targets have been members of your own family."
Shina: "What you can’t be serious."
Travis: "Oh but I am serious Shina, Comogata has been using you this whole time… he actually has you killing off members of your own family."
Shina: "Travis, I’ve told you a thousand times I don’t have a family."
Travis: "Yes you do… Shina you can’t tell me that those two names don’t sound familiar; to you."
[Shina thought extremely hard]
Shina: "Those names…those name they, they do sound familiar; like I knew them but how, I just don’t remember how."
Travis: "See… you can’t deny the fact that there’s a connection somewhere."
Shina: "Hmmm… I suppose you’re right, I’ll check this out in tonight’s mission."
[Meanwhile back in the Weapons Room]

Ayane: "Okay Shina I’m all set… where, WHERE’D SHINA GO OH MY GOD WE’RE TRAPPED… WE CAN’T GET OUT!"
[Shina and Travis heard screaming and ran into the Weapons Room]
[Shina took out her revolvers and opens the door]
Shina: "Are you guys through yet?"

Travis: "Is everything alright we heard screaming?"
[Jin says nothing]
Ayane: "Oh there she is."
[Jin walks past Ayane and goes outside on his way out he muttered something to Travis]
Jin: "Oh boy we’re going to die."
Shina: "Come on you two, we don’t have time to waste."
[Shina puts her revolvers back and walks out]
[Ayane watches Shina walk away]
Ayane: "Wow she’s really serious about this job isn’t she?"
[Jin heads down the hallway with Shina and Ayane follows]
[Shina stopped suddenly]
Shina: "Hey Travis…"
[Travis locked up the Weapons Room and turns to Shina]
Shina: "Thanks, for everything."
[Travis nodded to Shina]
[Ayane whispered to Jin as they continued to walk down the hallway]
Ayane: "Jin what was that all about?"
Jin: "I don’t know… I believe that it was a team effort Ayane…"
