Envious Rivalry
Jealousy is a poisonous sickness of mind.
When a man’s mind is cheery,
His friends don’t look happy.
It all seems so hazy,
But it’s nothing but jealousy.
Jealousy is the source
That makes tender mind coarse.
It fools us to our doom
And makes our life a gloom.
It addicts us to conspire,
And creates a blazing fire
To hurt our so-called foe,
And makes our friendship mow.
To fight jealousy itself,
For a true heart is to delf.
It proves the power to stand
Against this poisonous gland.
