End of Today

Hate is such a strong word,
Leaving us all emptied,
Like a fallen, broken bird.

But that seems to be all
There is for us.
We've taken that deadly fall.

The warmth you gave
Has left us both,
There's no one left to save.

The more we fake,
The more we kill it,
Only leaving us to break.

There is only so much we can do,
We've done it all, but only
So much can heal this between me and you.

Can you not understand?
We can't do much more!
Only so much until we land.

Nothing can stay,
Everything has an end,
And we've reach the end of today.
