Empty Stomach Cardio - Better For Fat Loss? Find Out Now

Empty stomach cardio is a training method that many people claim helps them see greater results from their weight loss efforts. But is this really the case? Here's what you need to know.
Empty stomach cardio is often talked about as a means to really push your fat loss results to a whole new level. Many people claim they get fantastic progress with this, but how true is this?

Does empty stomach cardio really increase your results or is it just a simple form of torture to put yourself through?

Here's what you need to know.

It's The Calorie Count You're Looking For

The first thing to be aware of is the fact that total calories are what will matter the most when it comes to getting fat loss results. If you take in more calories than you burn on a regular basis, it doesn't really matter what type of exercise you do, you aren't going to lose weight.

Therefore, the more important thing with your cardio training is that it allows you to burn off some calories, adding to the calorie deficit you're experiencing.

As long as the total daily intake calories remain the same, it's not going to matter all that much exactly when they are taken in.

Intensity Needs To Be Considered

Next, also keep in mind the fact that intensity is very important with fat loss. Since you likely won't be working at as high of an intensity if you're not eating before your cardio training, this could mean less than stellar results.

Instead, consider eating a small meal before hand if it will allow you to work out harder, thus see a greater calorie burn.

Never Weight Lift On An Empty Stomach

Finally, be really sure that you are not weight lifting on an empty stomach. Some people will start out just doing cardio on an empty stomach, but then over time they will begin to weight lift as well.

Bad idea.

Weight lifting is especially problematic because in order for the body to be able to successfully lift the weights at the intensity required, it's going to need glucose.

If you're not supplying this glucose, you aren't making the most out of your workouts.

So keep these points in mind. Empty stomach cardio definitely is not necessary to get results provided you have a clear picture of what you need to be doing to see fat loss (a good diet program and a solid weight lifting workout).
