I walked into the airport; it felt very cold I wish I had my jacket like I was supposed to. Dang it, I hated when Chris was right. I smelled the food court, oh, how hungry I was I haven't eaten since breakfast and it was already 4:45. I gasped "4:45!" I hadn't looked at the time, and I was late for my plane! I sprinted down the airport going into security; I had to take off my sneakers and belt, put that into a bin, and the put my bags into another bin and wait for the slowest guy in front of me to put his bins through the scanner. Finally my stuff went all the way through, I passed that part. Then I had to go though the metal detector. I ran through, thank god the detector didn't go off. I had to go to the baggage drop off next; all they do is ticket my bags and tell me if my bags are good. I had to wait for the lady to print out my ticket to know if my bags weight was accepted. She was taking a very long time. I looked at the watch on my wrist impatiently waiting for her to tell me if my bags were good to go.

"There good." She said in her raspy voice. I could tell she smoked.
"Thanks!" I said and ran to the gate.
On the way there, someone had yelled "Emma!" so I turned my head while running, which was probably not the best idea, and what do I get, a mother yelling for her little girl. Suddenly I felt like I ran into a soft rock. I fell immediately down. I probably should have said ow, or ouch, or something like that, but I was used to falling down. This tall, gorgeous guy stood at least 6'2; you could tell he was in very good shape. He had brown short hair with medium-sized eyebrows and lips that looked so soft.

"Sorry I was in a rush." I said loudly so he could hear me.
"Was?" he asked. His voice was like a lullaby I could totally listen to him talking all night, but I had to go.
"Well I'm almost there. I'm sorry I need to go." I rushed passed him before he could answer. I ran to the boarding gate number 34 and gave the lady my ticket before she could shut the door.
I finally got on the plane, safe and ready to go see Melaney. I put my stuff in the overhead compartment and sat down. I was sitting next to what it looked like a tall guy who was maybe my age, or maybe a little bit older he had stunning brown short hair. I wasn't a very talkative person so I just sat there, apparently he was.
"Hey aren't you the girl who ran into me earlier?" he continued. "I'm Matthew Sharp, and you are?" He ended with a low chuckle.

"Yea, that was me. My name is Emma" I hesitated "Emma Richardson" I laughed along with him. "Sorry about that. I was late for this plane actually"
"I can see that, so where are you going?" he asked curiously.
The Captain decided to interrupt our lovely conversation to tell us that were lifting off in 5 minutes and to turn off our electronics. I stood up to get my bag out of the compartment, reached into my backpack and turned off my cell phone, and my iPod off. I continued the conversation...
"Newtown, Pennsylvania" I paused. "To live with my mom."
"Oh, I'm going to Richboro, Pennsylvania." He looked down like he was afraid of something. I didn't ask, I thought that would be too weird because I didn't know him very well. Just then the seat belt light came on with a 'ding' sound. Matthew laughed and didn't put his seat belt on.

"Shouldn't you put your seat belt on?" I asked
"Shouldn't you?" Matthew said laughing. I didn't get why he was laughing though. I sighed and clicked it on. We had to pause for a couple of minutes so we could lift off. I have always hated planes. I was scared to crash, even though it was like a 1 in a thousand chance we would. It felt like I was in a racecar speeding past nature outside. Finally, we lifted off the ground heading just about straight up. This wasn't my first plane ride, I went to Newtown before, but I haven't gone since I was about 12 or 13.
"That's pretty close, are you going with your family?" by this time we took off we have already been up in the air for about 20 minutes. I continued. " I mean you can't be more than 17 right?"

"You're absolutely right, and yes I'm going to live with my family there in the back on the plane." He pointed to the back over his shoulder. I took the magazine out of the seat pocket in front of me because I stupidly put my bag over my seat. I started to look through it I noticed my throat started hurting I guess I was thirsty my throat was all-dry, then to correspond my thirstiness my stomach growled- Loud. Great. Matthew turned his head. "What was that?"
"My stomach, haven't you heard that before?" I laughed.
"Well yea but not that loud before. You must be really hungry, let me buy you something."
"No, it's okay, I'll survive." I said holding my stomach.
"No really, let me buy you something, it will make me feel a lot better." He said reaching for his wallet.

"No, put it away! I don't want you to spend your money on me." I playfully pushed his hand with the money in it and laughed silently.
"Excuse me miss, could you get me a menu?" Matthew asked the flight attendant. I looked at him with a glare. "Thank you" he added when the flight attendant got back. "What would you like miss?" I then realized he was talking to me again.
"Really, please I feel bad if you spend your money on me I will just have the peanuts and water."
"Don't feel bad. I have nothing else to spend this money on anyway my parents spoil me like crazy." I didn't really like how he said that he was spoiled. The last thing I need is a spoiled rich friend.

"I mean, we don't buy a lot, we have most of the things we need at home." He added seeing my reaction. I liked that answer much better.
"Okay" I sighed giving in to his dreamy green eyes.
I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich, which luckily was the thing that coasts the least.
"Thank you, very much Matthew, I don't know how to repay you." I was ashamed to give in to him.
"You're so very welcome, and you don't have to repay me." He declared.
"I'll find some way." I pronounced. Matthew smiled that smile that's just too hard to look away from. But I had to; I didn't want to look weird.
I didn't say anything more. I asked the flight attendant for a blanket and fell asleep.
**********
Maybe about 3 or 4 hours later I felt shaking, it felt like an earthquake up in the air. I came to consciousness and felt warm, soft hands shaking me, and an urgent, deep voice saying "Emma, Emma wake up." The loud voice was waking me up. "What, what, what's happening?"
The loud voice was hesitating "The plane is going to crash!"
"What! I can't die, not now, I haven't lived or anything." I started crying. He wiped my tear and started to talk.
"Don't worry. You'll be fine, trust me. I will make sure that nothing happens to you." I felt entirely safe. Of course, the plane I was on was the one in a thousand plane that would crash.

"Psh one in a thousand chance...yea okay" I said under my breath, I don't think Matthew heard me he did turn his head though. One in a thousand chance is sounding more like ninety-nine in a hundred chance. "Okay." I stuttered in fear.
I couldn't help but trust him, there was something about him that I liked, was it the smile? Or the politeness of him? I had no idea what to say to that. I could feel the plane going on a slant and the force of gravity holding me back in my seat. Then I remembered. "I have to get my bag, I need my picture of me and my dad it's the only one I have!"

"No. I'm not going to let you get your bag." He partially yelled.
"I have to" I started to unbuckle my seat when I felt soft hands on my belt buckling it; I followed the hands that unbuckled the belt next to me.
"What are you doing?" I gasped. Matthew unbuckled his seat belt.
"Getting your bag for you."
"I'm not going to let you." I started to unbuckle my belt again.
"Don't do it." He warned. I was a little scared to find out what Matthew would do if I did get up, my seat belt then buckled back up.
"I'm not going to let you kill yourself for me, you hardly know me" I yelled. I was panicking, what was this guy doing? He's crazy!
"You don't need to worry about my safety. Worry about your own." He said in a hard cold voice.

"But..." I couldn't finish my sentence I was too tense and angry with Matthew.
I watched as he got up and grabbed my bag, I had a really worried look on my face. He looked at me and laughed, as he got up it looked like the gravity pushing us against our will, didn't even bother him. He got my bag and sat back down with no problem. Matthew got my bag in a matter of seconds I could hardly see him. Suddenly the captain came over the speaker.
"Please prepare for a crash landing!" the captain sounded terrified. The yellow oxygen masks flew down and Matthew put it on me, risking his life, before he put the oxygen mask on himself. I think he knew exactly what was going to happen because as soon as we hit the ground he flew his body over me. I felt a hard impact on my head, and everything went black.
