Elves, Fairies and Animal Sprites

When Cory gets washed into the human world and runs into man, will it cause the extinction of her species or save the hidden creatures of the world from man kind?
Elves, Fairies and Animal Sprites
Idea/Concept

A world of elves and fairies under attack by humans. Can love Triumph over destruction and prejudice? Of course!

When an elf breeds with a fairy they produce animal like sprites responsible for small plants and tiny creatures of the forest.

The normal fairies are responsible large animals and the nymphs are responsible for trees (all looks and no brains, they stay in their trees in a very isolated existence)

The animal sprites live in a very separate society from the fairies and elves blending in with the surrounding woodland creatures in a way that the others forget that they even exist

The elf folk inhabit a mountain on the edge of a huge lake that separates them from the forest; as a result they rarely interact with the fairies, nymphs (which are poor conversation anyways) or animal sprites which are all but forgotten.

When the humans find the fairy folk they start to enslave them, capturing them and shipping them off to the far reaches of the human world to work as servants and slaves for the wealthy

The elves in the mountains watched but are reluctant to involve themselves, the animal sprites went unnoticed as potential slaves and were treated like the animals they so closely resembled, hunted as pests and nuisances

Time passes, nearly 1000 years, and the humans have nearly all the fairies under their control, a few that fled their homes to live with the elf folk still live

Due to the elves retreating to their mountain homes and the fairies continued slavery the animal sprite population has started to dwindle

An elf named Cory is about 72 years old (which makes her comparably 18 in our in appearance) and has grown up only knowing the world with humans in it.

The elf folk were always forbidden from venturing down the mountain for fear of what the humans would do. The elders say that the humans cannot tolerate the cold of the mountains so had not ventured into the frozen mountain peaks or their maze like interiors, and that was the only reason that they had yet to discover the elf folk populations. If they did discover the elf folks existence than they may just find it reason enough to expand their range.
