Ellen DeGeneres’ New Gig

Last week it was rumored that DeGeneres, 50, had signed a six-figure deal with the cosmetics giant. She confirmed the rumors on Tuesday’s edition of her hit show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. DeGeneres reportedly joked, "You know how I always like to share what’s going on in my life with you all, and I was going to give you some news and, unfortunately, rumors started circulating all over the Internet. I am here to set the record straight now. I am not pregnant. It just turned out to be a bump. I went and had it checked out." She continued, "That’s not the news. I am the new face of CoverGirl." DeGeneres then struck a pose and said, "That’s the first thing they teach you when you’re a CoverGirl."

DeGeneres’ campaign is not expected to begin until January, but someone leaked the news. During Tuesday’s show she showed a clip from behind the scenes of her CoverGirl shoot. She said, "They’re putting lip liner on me – man, they love lip liner!" DeGeneres is reportedly very excited about her new role and said, "It’s a very cool thing. I’m honored and the photo shoot was ‘easy, breezy, beautiful CoverGirl.’" She joins the likes of Rihanna and Drew Barrymore, current CoverGirl’s.

DeGeneres married her longtime girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi, on August 16, 2008. The couple was married in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles. They were surrounded by nineteen of their closest family and friends. DeGeneres and de Rossi, 35, met in March 2004 during a photo shoot and began dating nine months later. ON May 16, 2008, DeGeneres announced to her studio audience that the couple was going to marry following California’s Supreme Courts overturning a law banning gay marriage.
