Elementals
Lilly thought she was a normal girl until she met a stranger with reddish eyes at the mall. since then her life will be changed as she slowly learns to control her powers and become one of The Elementals...
I took a deep breath. Preparing myself for the storm outside. I pushed open the heavy door of the McDonalds and stepped out into the pouring rain. I have never seen it rain so hard in October. It was coming down in sheets I literally can only see about 6 inches in front of me, everything else is fuzzy. I started to run across the parking lot to my car, praying no cars were pulling out to hit me. I took out my keys and couldn't get it in the lock. Stupid rain, I love storms but this was only adding to my already depressed mood.
I leapt into my car and wrung out my hair onto a napkin and stripped off my jacket, shivering, I turned my heat on high. I sat there for a moment, flipping through radio stations, trying to warm up a little before beginning the drive home. I settled on Love the way you Lie by Eminem and Rihanna. I had listened to it so many times I could even rap it perfectly...without music.
I put my car in reverse and turned my wipers on high, which still didn't do much, and pulled out of McDonalds onto Main Street. I drove 10 Mph through the 25 zone...still feeling like I was going too fast in this storm. My face practically pressed against the windshield just to see a few feet in front of me. All of a sudden a figure appeared in front of my car and I slammed on the brakes. A boy, tall and skinny, ran across the street in front of me, he got to the other side and stared at me. Well I thought it was a boy all I could make out were...red eyes? I eased down on the gas pedal and continued my drive home.
Crap! That was the perfect opportunity to honk my horn, and I didn't again. This is the third time I have forgotten to honk at stupid people, which isn't a big deal, but for some reason I need to do it. I only went 15 on the highway just like the other few cars. The radio told me there was an alert about the storm being so bad all cars should get off the road as soon as possible. Just then I pulled into my practically flooded driveway and ran into my house.
"Oh Lillian! I was so worried about you!" My mother said embracing me in a hug.
"Lilly's home!" My 4 year old brother said running up and hugging my leg.
"Hey Lillz, glad you survived." My 13 year old sister said sarcastically.
"I know mom, but I couldn't just stay at Mcdonalds." I said walking away into my room my little brother Alex still clinging to my leg. "Hop off Al, I gotta go change" I said messing up his hair as he ran away. I changed into dry clothes and lay down on my bed, almost asleep. A knock came at my door, and I jumped up and opened it.
"Oh, what do you want Lisa?" I asked my sister annoyed.
"Mom said to ask you if you already ate or not."
"Oh.. Yeah I did, tell her sorry." I told her as she just silently walked away. I still don't know why she hates me. Maybe I'll just never figure it out. I lay back down on my bed and closed my eyes.
