Element Fairies 5

After what seem like hours, the group made it to the village. The children stopped playing and stared at Jasmine as she entered the village with questionable eyes. The adults stopped what they were doing to look at the strange visitor walking side by side with the guardians. Jasmine just stared back smiling at the children and saying hi to the elderly. She also looked around to see buildings made out of stones and lumber.

"We’re here," Chufue announce as they approach a big stone structure. Selena slowly opens the door and motion the three of them in. They continued to walk into the storehouse until they stop by the wall.

"There’s nothing here," Jasmine tell the others when she was face to face with the wall but then Val lightly push her aside. He puts his hand on the wall, closes his eyes, and chanted, "Open element door." As he repeated his spell, shockwaves shook the building and the torches die out as an ominous wind surrounds them. The wall began to shake and a magical chestnut door appears before them. Val removes his hand as Chufue’s hand stretched out to open the door, revealing a secret passage. All four of them enter the passage, closing the door behind them.

"Why is there a secret passage in the storehouse?" Jasmine asked following the three guardians.

"It is the secret headquarters of the guardians," Chufue answer as he lead the way, "long ago the base use to stand here were the storehouse is but a Phantasm attacked the village and destroyed the guardian’s base. Only the sacred chamber stands because it is underground."

"Sacred chamber?"

"The sacred chamber is where the element crystal is kept…"

"What is the element crystal?"

"The element crystal is the source of the guardian’s power and it also chooses the rightful guardian."

"How would it know which one is the rightful guardian?"

"It knows because it has the eye of rebirth…"

"What is the eye of rebirth? Ow!" Something smacks Jasmine on the back of her head when she finishes her sentence. She turns around to see Meng behind her followed by a boy wearing yellow. The other three stop to see what the situation was and sees Jasmine stares at Meng with anger in her eyes.

"Why are you here?" she demands.

"If you haven’t notice, I’m a guardian and I am supposed to ask you that question."

"And what makes you have the right to smack me on the head?"

"Asking too much questions annoys me."

"And how long have you been standing behind me?"

"For twenty seconds but it seems like twenty minutes hearing your jabbering echoes throughout the passage."

"You…" but Selena and the boy in yellow stop them from arguing.

"Can both of you get along already? It seems forever to hear you guys argue for a long period of time," Selena shouted. Jasmine turned her back and crosses her arms as Meng did the same thing.

"Do they always do this?" the boy in yellow asks in a childish voice.

"Yes," Val answers him. Jasmine then remembers about the boy and asks, "Oh, we haven’t met do we. Sorry for the rude conversation I had earlier. I’m Jasmine and you?"

"I’m guardian Thunder but you can call me Richard," he said smiling.

"Aw… look how cute you are. You must me like eight or ten years old." The short yellow guardian looked down in embarrassment.

"Um… Jasmine," Selena said, "he’s actually nineteen years old." Jasmine’s jaw dropped to see a cute little boy is actually is a nineteen year old adult. Now Richard’s face became red in embarrassment.

"I’m so sorry."

"Its o.k., every people and fairy thought that I was a kid at first sight." Then Jasmine recognized him as the fairy that was in her closet with Meng yesterday when she was trying to catch them but now she doesn’t mind.

"Hurry, we have to continue on," Chufue said and they continue to move along the path. A door appears at the end of the passage. Selena walk to the door, chanted a spell and the door flung open. The group enters the sacred chamber and closes the door behind them. In the chamber, a beautiful giant rainbow colored crystal is seen giving off some light of various colors. A woman dressed in brown stand at a corner with her hood up. Jasmine felt an ominous aura from the girl. The girl step up to Meng and ask, "Is this the Former you guys talking about?" Meng nodded and look towards Jasmine. The girl went up to her and examines her closely.

"You don’t look like much," she concluded, "but you’re worth it. I’m guardian Psychic and that’s that."

"What? You don’t have a birth name?"

"She does," Val said, "It’s just that she never wanted to use it. Her birth name is…" but the girl grabbed Val’s collar and looked into his eyes.

"Never mention my name to a stranger," she said as she let go of him. Jasmine was staring at her in a terrifying way but also in surprise to see her react when Val was about to tell her birth name.

"Never mind her hostile attitude," Chufue said, "her real name is…" then a psyche energy was blasted from her mind but Chufue simply counter this by casting, "Wind barrier." Instantly, both of their magic cancelled. The girl snarls angrily at Chufue but know she couldn’t do anything about it.

"As I was saying, her real name is Julia."

"That’s actually a real nice name. I always wanted to…" but before she can finish her sentence, a psychic energy hit her and she was sent flying until she hit a wall. Meng, flushed with anger, cast, "Fire ball" and a ball of flames hit Julia on her crest and she too was sent flying off until see hit a wall. He was about to cast another spell but Val interrupted him with "Ice retaliation" therefore freezing Meng into place. Selena quickly check on Jasmine.

"She’s injured," she reported.

"Here too," Richard reported as he checked on Julia.

"Hurry, to the Healing room," Chufue commanded.

"How about him?" Val asked pointing at the frozen Meng.

"Never mind him; he can get out of ice. Now move!"

Hours later, Jasmine woke up in a strange place. She tried to move but her arms and thighs ache from Julia’s psychic blast. Jasmine then wonders what happened to Meng because the last thing she saw was Meng frozen by Val’s magic.

"What was he thinking?" she thought to herself, remembering when Meng blasted Julia with his fireball magic. The opening door broke Jasmine’s thought. A maid enters the room, armed with a wand.

"Hello there, I see that you’re awake."

"Yeah, oh, by the way I’m Jasmine."

"I’m Nichole. Well, I see you took a beating there. At least you have learned your lesson not to mess with the guardian Psychic. She is a real hot headed."

"Why doesn’t she like her birth name?"

"Well, I don’t know. She used to be a sweet girl when I was here. I know because I was her nanny but then there was a problem at another town so I stay there for three years. When I came back, she changed and she keeps repeating, ‘don’t say my name, don’t say my name.’ Then the next thing I know, the great crystal has chosen her as a guardian, which doubles her frustration for taking that much responsibility. Now, no matter what I do, she doesn’t listen to me or anybody else."

"Is there anybody who she will listen to? Like her parents or anything?"

"No. Her parents die when I went away and her brothers and sisters died too. Oh, but the only person that ever came that close to her is guardian Thunder."

"You mean Richard."

"Yes, now if you excuse me," the maid waved her wand and cast, "Healioga." Immediately, she can move her arms and legs again.

"Thanks," Jasmine said.

"You’re welcome," the maid said and was walking to the door but Jasmine stopped her when she said, "Nichole, why is Richard the only person who can reach her?"

"I don’t know. You can ask him if you want."

"Um…hey!" but before she can ask another question, Nichole already left. She sat up on the bed thinking about Meng.

BOOM!

The explosion interrupted her thoughts and she quickly ran outside. Many monsters run into the village and started to kill many people. Families run away and abandoning their houses. Jasmine doesn’t know what to do but to go for the storehouse where it is safe. She advances towards the storehouse but stopped when she sees a little boy tripped. She sprinted to his side but the monster close in on them and surrounded them.

Damn, I’m surrounded, she thought to herself as the monster stretch out its hand to get her and the little boy.

"Lightening wrath," and in an instant, lightening came down and struck every one of the monster that surrounded her, burn to a crisp. Jasmine look back to see Richard and the others in their fairy form but Julia and Meng were missing. Jasmine stood up and took the boy with her to the storehouse while the guardians advance on the monsters.

"Here you’ll be safe here," she said to the boy. She turns to look at the battle when a monster leaps out of the ground. She screamed with terror but the monster was burn up with "Fire beam." Jasmine around and was very joyful to see Meng again.

"Don’t stand there, do something!" Meng shouted at her. Jasmine face began to flush with anger again but was distracted by the Phantasm, which looked like a two-headed snake with four legs and four arms. It hit Val and he soar over to Jasmine.

"Are you o.k.?" she asks Val. Val look up at the Phantasm, then at Jasmine.

"What are you thinking, Val?"

"Let’s form," he said and without warning, he took her hand and form with her.
