Educational Games for Preschool Kids

When learning becomes fun rather than boring homeworks or assignments, kids tend to learn faster and more effectively. Planning some preschool educational games for kids at home or in school, may prove to be a great learning phase, with lots of fun and excitement for the little ones.
Educational Games for Preschool Kids
Preschool educational games for kids are a great way to start their initial learning phase. Creativity, intelligence and memory enhancement games are popular with parents as well as with their kids. Your kids can enjoy learning and playing games based on alphabets, numbers, animal and nature, art and music, logic and understanding, memory, word structure, health, mathematics, geography, identifying colors and objects, spellings and many more. Here I have listed down some funny and interesting preschool educational games for your toddlers.

Place Me!
This game comprises of objects of different shapes and sizes. You can draw an outline of each object on a paper. Then, ask your kids to place an object whose shape is similar to the outline you have drawn. For example, if you have an object which looks like a star, then draw it's outline and then observe if your kids are placing the object into the correct outline. This game helps kids to recognize objects according to their shapes and sizes.

As You Like!
This is a sketching game. Cartoon characters are always a favorite with kids. The kids can choose a picture of any character of their choice and sketch the same on a paper. Later, they can color them using crayons or sketch pens. This game can turn out to be really funny and you can also get an idea as how good is your kids' observation power?

Letters and Number Connection
An incomplete picture can be drawn on a piece of paper. The incomplete part would contain some dots, which if connected in the right way, completes the whole picture. To help the kids connect the dots in the correct order, write an alphabet or number, against each dot, in chronological order. This helps kids in memorizing the English alphabets and numbers.

Black or Blue?
Arrange for some colored papers; preferably all seven colors. Now place each colored paper before your kids and ask them to name each of the colors. You can use pictures of fruits and vegetables to describe each of the seven colors. And, there is nothing like showing the kids the picture of a rainbow and teaching them. You can also teach your kids the difference between primary and secondary colors.

Fill the Gap!
Kids can improve their spellings through this spelling game. You can cut out pictures of different items and put their incomplete spellings against the items. To win the game, the kids have to fill up the blank in between the spellings. The words you choose for this game can be names of animals, places, and other miscellaneous words. In the initial phase, you can decide upon simple and short spellings.

Besides these preschool games, parents can also think of other innovative games that can be played with their kids at homes. A variety of educational toys and online educational computer games are also available for kids. There is no limit to the educational games for the preschoolers. For example, to improve their counting ability, number songs are the best way to start with and of course the A, B, C, D.... song has always been a favorite of all times. Early education for kids should be such that they can have fun while learning. The learning should not become work, because this is when kids begin to lose interest in learning or studying. Always remember, the best education is the one where the learning has been understood and applied, and not just memorized!
