Edie Falco Open to Returning to 30 Rock
Alec Baldwin's former love interest on 30 Rock - played brilliantly by Edie Falco - may be coming back to the show to stir the pot with everyone's favorite network executive.
Edie Falco is still in high demand after her wildly successful run as Carmella Soprano on The Sopranos. She is currently filming a Showtime series, Nurse Jackie, but reports are that she would be willing to come back to 30 Rock if asked. Of course, her schedule would have to clear and Tina Fey would have to decide that she wants her back. But more difficult stars have aligned in the past, so I don't think anyone feels like it can't happen.
When asked about a possible return to the show, Falco admitted that she wasn't originally interested when approached by her agents. She didn't feel that she was right for that type of show. But she eventually agreed to give it a shot after hearing how popular the show was with its viewers and just how funny that quirky brand of comedy can be.
She said that it was difficult to acclimate to the fast pace and comfort level that Baldwin and Fey have on the set. She said that Alec Baldwin actually told her that the secret to playing well on the show is to intentionally act poorly. It's the exaggerated effort that Baldwin brings to his part that makes it so brilliant.
Her run as Jack Donaghy's love interest on the show was well-received, but it left the door open for any number of possibilities should she decide to return to the show.
