Eddie Murphy Weds
It has been confirmed that Eddie Murphy wed fiancee Tracey Edmonds on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora.

Reps for the newlyweds confirmed that Murphy, 46, and Edmonds, 40, tied the knot on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia on Tuesday. The wedding took place at sunset and was witnessed by 25 of the couple’s closest friends and family members. None of the couple’s combined 8 children were there to witness the nuptials. Murphy reportedly wore a cream suit and vest while Edmonds wore a custom designed dress by designers Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci.
Singer Johnny Gill served as Murphy’s best man and actress Nicole Avant was the maid of honor. Edmonds walked down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s "Makings of You." Event designer Colin Cowie designed the wedding. He created a gazebo especially for the ceremony that was reportedly made out of 6,000 shells. This is Murphy’s second marriage. He was married to model Nicole Mitchell with whom he has five children. Murphy and Mitchell were married in March 1993 and were divorced in April 2006. Shortly after his split from Mitchell, Murphy began dating Spice Girl Melanie Brown. He dumped Brown while she was pregnant with his child and began dating Edmonds. Murphy denied that he was the father of Brown’s baby, but after the child’s birth (ironically on Murphy’s birthday) a paternity test revealed that he is the baby’s father. Edmonds, a movie producer, was previously married to Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds from September 1992 until June 2007. The couple has two children.
