After months of speculation it has been confirmed that Murphy is the father of the former Spice Girl’s 2-month old daughter. Liza Anderson, Brown’s publicist, said, "It is confirmed that Eddie is the father!" Brown, 32, has always maintained that Murphy, 46, is the baby’s father despite his questioning the paternity. Murphy submitted to a paternity test on June 11 and the results were received on Thursday. Murphy’s rep has yet to comment on the results. A source close to Brown said, "There was no doubt in people’s minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn’t a surprise to her. She knew all along."

Brown and Murphy briefly dated last summer, but in December Murphy was asked about his relationship with Brown and the fact that she was pregnant on the Dutch talk show RTL Boulevard. Murphy said in the interview, "You’re being presumptuous because we’re not together anymore. And I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir." Brown has always said that Murphy was the father and, in fact, said the pregnancy was planned. She even named the baby Angel Iris Murphy Brown.

The baby made her debut on April 3, her daddy’s birthday. Brown has an 8-year old daughter, Phoenix Chi, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar. Murphy has five children with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell. He is currently involved with Tracey Edmunds, the ex-wife of Babyface. Reportedly, Murphy has yet to meet his daughter. He did say recently that he would "do the right thing" if she turned out to be his. We shall see. Brown said that "this isn’t about the money, it’s about Angel knowing for sure who her dad is." Well, hopefully now she will get the chance!
