Eating Deep Fried Turkeys

Deep frying a turkey isn't something the average person has really heard of. Most families don't have the equipment necessary to cook an entire turkey this way, but this method actually produces a very tasty bird.
I thought I could talk to you about eating deep fried turkeys. I know this sounds sort of odd, but it is actually a really great way to start cooking your turkey this way. I remember the first time I heard how someone was going to cook their turkey, I thought 'isn't that going to be greasy and crispy?' That's seriously what I thought because that's what I associated with deep frying. If I wanted greasy and crispy fries I'd just throw them in the deep fryer. Well, you can eat a turkey that is deep fried and it is absolutely amazing.

I'll first start by pointing out that this turkey isn't greasy and it definitely isn't crispy. The first piece of turkey that I put into my mouth was so tender and moist. It was by far the best I've ever eaten. I'm not exactly sure why it happens to taste so good, but I believe the deep frying actually holds in a lot of the juices and tastes that is often lost when you cook it in an oven. A problem you might run into is finding family or friends that actually cook their bird this way on Thanksgiving. You'll probably have to do it yourself.

Cooking your own turkey in a deep fryer isn't that hard. It just requires you to have the equipment. You have to buy a specific system designed for turkeys. It involves a pot for you to put the turkey in and it will typically be heated by some sort of flame like propane. The grease is extremely hot, so you typically have to cook this outside where you won't burn down your house if something bad happened.
