Craft #1: Kitchen Magnets
Here is an easy to make crafts for children. To make this you'll need colored felt or construction paper, lightweight cardboard, your small photo, white glue, small magnet or sticky-back magnetic backing available in rolls in craft stores. Let us see the procedure of this fun crafts to do at home.
Procedure
Draw two identical shapes on the cardboard, circle, oval, rectangle, etc. Now cut these out. Take one of these and cut out a hole in its center. This is the front side of the craft piece. Remember you are going to place the photograph behind this cardboard and your complete face must appear from this hole. Only your face. Now stick this photo from the backside and stick the next piece of cardboard on backside of the photograph. Cut off the extra photograph. Procedure
Firstly you can opt for picture frame kit, easy available in craft stores or you can order it online as well. You can start making the entire frame from scratch. Go outdoors and find your favorite type of wood. Make sure you get one, keeping in mind the size of the photograph. It must be 1-2 inches larger from each side of the photograph. Now get the paints that will suit the wall color. If you love the natural look you can just give two coats of varnish. Now cut out four pieces of this wood at 45 degree angles. These must fit perfectly into a square. At corners of each piece, you need 45 degree cuts going outwards. Now fit these together with small nails to form the frame structure. Get a thin glass according to the frame's size and a mat board. Turn the frame upside down. Now place the glass on the wooden frame and the mat board on the glass. Make sure you cut the mat board in a proper shape and size for making a perfect border to the photograph. Now place the photograph. Take a cardboard of a size just smaller than the wooden frame. Craft #3: Tile Notepad Holder
To make this craft you will need a 4 x 4 inches white tile, a 6 x 6 inches wood block, acrylic paint, black permanent marker, dry-erase marker, stencil to paint your own design, 2 part epoxy glue, narrow velcro strip and a picture frame tooth hanger.
Procedure
Start by sanding the wood square and wipe off the dust. Now paint the wood with the color you want. You can choose to keep it natural by a single coat of color or two coats of varnish. Now paint a stenciled design or any other you like and let it dry. Now apply a sealer over the wood block. Write "Notes" on its top center with black permanent marker. Use epoxy glue and glue the tile on the center of this wood block. Now, on the right side of the wood square attach the sticky side of the velcro strip. Now attach the matching piece of velcro strip to the dry eraser. Also, attach the dry-erase marker to the wood in the similar way. Now attach the picture frame tooth hanger on the back of the tile holder with nails and hang it wherever you want to. Hanging this in your study room is a great idea.
