Another thing, many kids are afraid of bath. There are thousands of things that the parents have to do for getting the kid into the shower. So, handmade soaps, soaps that are specially made by the kids, can be a great reason for the kids to bathe! For serving the same purpose, here are several easy soap making recipes for kids that are enjoyable by not only the kids but their parents too! There are a few basic things that can turn a simple homemade soap into a special fragrant soap for kids. These things are essential oils, one can use any of the numerous essential oils that have their own distinct fragrance as well as a special healing effect.
Simple Soap for Kids
Material
- 3 cups of soap flakes
- Liquid food coloring
- Vegetable oil
- Water
- A bowl
Take a bowl and put soap flakes into it. Add 1½ cup water and a few drops of the favorite food coloring liquid (kid's choice) to the flakes. Mix the flakes, water and color well, using your hand, until it gets somewhat like the play dough. Now, it's the time to shape the homemade soaps. Rub a few drops of vegetable oil on your hands and shape the soap dough, in the desired shape and size. Let the soap stand overnight and then use it! Making soap flakes is also very easy, take a regular soap bar and grate it, to form soap powder and use it.
Cucumber and Aloe Loofah Soap
Material
- 3 oz opaque soap flakes
- 1 loofah (sliced)
- 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
- 15 drops of cucumber essential oil
- Liquid food color (green)
Take the soap flakes, sliced loofah, aloe vera gel, green color and cucumber oil into a bowl and mix them well, into a microwave friendly bowl. Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and place it in the microwave for a minute. Now, stir any remnants of the undissolved soap pieces and put it into a soap making mold of the desired shape! Make sure to let the soap dry for 2 to 3 days before taking it out of the mold!
Olive Oil Soap
Material
- Olive oil
- Coconut Oil
- Water
- Lye
- Essential oil
For making this olive oil soap, kids will surely need your help. Don't let the kids do the work alone. Heat all the solid oils until solids start to melt. Afterward, turn off the heat and add liquid oils. Then add lye and water mixture into the soap pot. You will see that the mixture immediately starts to turn cloudy. Mix well the oils, lye and water with stick blender. Set the mixture in a soap making mold and let it set for 2 to 3 days.
