Butter Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
Ground cinnamon (1/4 teaspoon)
Garam masala (1 1/2 teaspoons)
Salt (1 1/2 teaspoons)
Minced ginger (1 1/2 teaspoons)
Garlic - crushed (2 cloves)
Tomatoes - seeded, diced (5)
Plain yogurt (1/2 cup)
Butter (1/2 cup)
Red bell peppers - sliced (2)
Onions - thinly sliced (2)
Ground nutmeg (1/4 teaspoon)
Ground cloves (1/4 teaspoon)
Heavy whipping cream (1/4 cup)
Chopped fresh coriander (2 tablespoons)
Dried red chili pepper - crushed (2 teaspoons)
Skinless, boneless chicken breast - cut into 2-inch cubes (1 pound)
Preparation
First, mix the ground chili peppers with the cinnamon, garam masala, nutmeg, ginger, garlic, yogurt, tomatoes, cloves and salt in a large bowl. Then, place the chicken pieces in this yogurt mixture. Marinate it in the refrigerator for around minimum 30 minutes, maximum to 60 minutes. Then, melt some butter in a large skillet. Cook the bell pepper slices along with the onions on medium heat. Cook till the onions turn translucent and keep stirring every 5 minutes. Then, add the chicken along with the marinade to this skillet. Cook the chicken and stir the same constantly for the next 8 minutes. Once the chicken turns firm, keep the flame on medium high. Now, add the cream and the coriander. Cook the mixture till it begins to boil and serve immediately!
Masala Dosa Recipe
Ingredients
For the Dosa
Rice (1 1/2 cups)
Urad dal (1/2 cup)
Salt
Oil
For the Masala Filling
Potatoes (2)
Turmeric (1/2 teaspoon)
Mustard seed (1/2 teaspoon)
Green chili (1-2)
Oil (1 tablespoon)
Salt
Medium onion – chopped (1)
Yellow split peas (1/2 teaspoon)
Preparation
For the dosa:
Soak the rice and the urad dal separately in water, overnight. Then, grind to make a paste. Mix it together with salt and water. This will form the batter. Place this aside at room temperature overnight. Add onion and chilies to the batter. Heat a pan with some oil or even ghee. Pour this batter with the help of a wide spoon onto the pan in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
For the filling:
Heat oil in a pan and add onions, spice, mustard seeds and peas to this. Fry it for about 5 minutes on medium heat. Add the potatoes to this and cook it evenly.
While serving, you need to place the filling inside the dosa and roll the dosa. Serve this with spicy chutney!
