How to Make Bracelets Out of String
Embroidery floss friendship bracelets are commonly used by people on Friendship Day. Here is a step-by-step procedure of making a simple friendship bracelets with embroidery threads. To make a friendship bracelet, one should have minimum 4 threads with different colors. Having more colors would only make the bracelet attractive in appearance. Length of each of these threads need to be that of our arm.
- The first step in the process of making a friendship bracelet is to tie all the available threads together at one end. Taping this knot to a stable surface would help in making the work easier.
- One should pick up a thread at the left or right end of the series of threads. This thread should be wrapped around the next or second one in sequence; wrapping should be in the form of a double-knot.
- The first thread should also be wrapped around third, fourth and so on till the last thread.
- The cycle should be repeated with every thread twice. In the end, each and every thread is tied around all threads in the series twice.
- A nice pattern of embroidery design is created with this technique.
- Excess length of the bracelet should then be cut off.
To make this bracelet, one should have 2 pieces each of 3 different colored strings (embroidery floss) with a length of 24 inches.
- The 6 strands of strings mentioned above should be laid on a table. Matching strands need to be placed together.
- All the 6 strands should be held together and folded in half. A loop needs to be created by tying a knot at the center.
- Loose ends of the strands should be separated into yellow, pink and light blue.
- Next step in the process is to braid the three strands. However, before starting the braiding activity, loops formed at the center should be taped down to a table. Braiding should be carried out till the bracelet becomes long enough for tying around the wrist.
- Once the braid is sufficient in length, two strands should be created. A knot should be used for tying the strands together and thereby completing the braid.
- The remaining strands should be divided in two groups and braided separately. The loose ends should finally be tied into knots to make a perfect friendship bracelet.
