Easy Cooking for Bachelors
This article describes a few cheap and easy recipes that would be great for the average bachelor.
Some men are helpless around the kitchen. They may have grown up with a mother that cooked for them daily, but, for whatever reason, they just don’t know how to cook a good meal for themselves. Single men without a wife to cook for them, or show them how fend for themselves, just have to figure it out on their own if they want to cook at home. The good news is that we’ve got some cost-conscious recipes that are easy to fix up and tasty enough for even the pickiest of the bachelors.
Chili and Rice
Chili and rice is a great meal that takes very little time and effort. It’s also very cheap. A can of chili costs less than a buck and the amount of rice that you need to make a meal for one will cost only cents. To make the chili, it just needs to be emptied into a pot and warned up on a stove top. It’s pre-cooked. The rice need only be boiled in a pot of water until soft and fluffy. About a cup will do. To make it even easier, you can buy rice cookers with simple instructions to make perfectly timed and cooked rice. To add additional flavor and taste, you can add cheese or onions to really bring the meal together.
Lemon Chicken
To cook up a really good chicken breast as the main course of a meal, you need very little money and very little time to impress. Frozen, boneless chicken breast can be found in the frozen food section of any grocery store. You can pick up lemon pepper seasoning from the seasoning section of the grocery store that will allow you to flavor your chicken quickly and easily.
To cook the chicken, it just needs to be de-thawed either by putting the chicken breast in the microwave on a defrost setting or letting the chicken sit under running water. Once the chicken is de-thawed you can sprinkle the lemon seasoning onto the chicken breast to your desired amount (It might take a few attempts to find the amount that you like). Cook the chicken breast on a medium temperature in a skillet. The meat will likely take 5 to 10 minutes to cook. The best way to check if the meat is cooked through is just to cut into the meat and see if there is any pink meat left in the center. Once it’s cooked, you’ve got yourself a delicious meal that can go well with any side.
