Cabbage Soup Recipes: Cabbage and Leek Soup
Ingredients
Chicken Stock 2 Pints
Leeks 8, cut into half inch pieces
Green Cabbage 2 Lbs
Onion 1 Large, finely chopped
Salt
Ground Black Pepper
For the Garnish
Toast 6 Slices, cut into squares
Cheddar Cheese 3 Oz, grated
How to Make Cabbage and Leek Soup
Boil the stock in a large sauce pan. Add all the vegetables, and bring to a boil. Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 45 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the soup into bowls. Before serving, add a few pieces of the toast and cheese.
Stuffed Cabbage Recipes and Cabbage Rolls: Swedish Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Ingredients
Cabbage Leaves 12 Large
Egg 1, beaten
Milk - Ό Cup
Salt 1 teaspoon
Pepper Ό teaspoon
Onion Ό Cup
Lean Ground Beef 1 Lb
Cooked Rice 1 Cup
Tomato Sauce 8 Ounces
Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
Brown Sugar 1 tablespoon
Worcestershire Sauce 1 teaspoon
How to Make Swedish Cabbage Rolls
Put the cabbage leaves in a pan of boiling water. Ensure that they are immersed in the water. Boil them for at least 3 minutes. They should become quite limp. Drain out the water.
Combine the egg, milk, beef, cooked rice, onion, salt and pepper.
Place Ό Cup of this mixture over each cabbage leaf and fold the leaf. Roll the ends over the meat. Place these in a slow cooker pot.
Now combine the brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and the tomato sauce. Pour this over the cabbage rolls.
Cover the cooker and cook for 7 to 8 hours on low heat.
Red Cabbage Recipes: Red Cabbage Salad
Ingredients
Red Cabbage 1 Head, cored, shredded
Onion Powder Ό teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Ground Black Pepper Ό teaspoon
Seasoned Salt 1 teaspoon
White Sugar 1 tablespoon
Red Wine Vinegar 2/3 Cup
Canola Oil ½ Cup
How to Make Red Cabbage Salad
Take a bowl. Mix the canola oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, seasoned salt, onion powder and pepper.
In another bowl, take the shredded cabbage and pour the dressing and toss.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
Stir and drain before serving.
