Easter Egg Hunt Tips and Ideas

This Easter make your children excited for their Easter egg hunt.
Each Easter all the kids look forward the Easter bunny coming with presents and candy. Another thing the kids look forward to is the annual Easter egg hunt where they get to go out in their house or yard and search long and hard for all those Easter eggs that might contain candy or some other prize. It is exciting both for the kids and parents to participate in. The parents get to hide all the eggs, and then watch their kids guess as to where everything is. Here are some great tips to improving that great Easter egg hunt.

One of the first things is making sure that you have plenty of Easter eggs and a variety of treats to go in all the Easter eggs. Fill each Easter egg with different types of candies or treats that the kids will enjoy. A good idea is to buy a big bag of assorted candy that you can purchase at most any grocery store. This way you have a variety of candy to place in all the eggs.

Once you figure out how many kids will be involved in the Easter egg hunt you can determine how many eggs to buy. Set the amount according to how many eggs you want each kid to come up with. A good number is somewhere around 10 eggs per kid. You can buy these plastic eggs at most any party store and they are fairly cheap.

Now that you have all the eggs filled with candy and ready to hide you can get the adults together and begin hiding the eggs. You do not want to make it too difficult for the kids to find, especially if you are going to have really young children involved in the hunt. Depending on the age group of the kids you may want to put some in easier places and some in more difficult places to find. This way everyone has a chance.

A big mistake most people make when creating an Easter egg hunt and hiding all the eggs is that they forget to count how many eggs were hidden. If you do not know how many eggs are hidden then you will not know if they have all been found. When you go around hiding the eggs, be sure to count how many were put out.

When you start the Easter egg hunt, you may want to do it in different sections. By that I mean allow the younger kids to go out first and have a head start in finding some of the eggs first. More than likely they are going to get the easier eggs to find, which still leaves the older kids to hunt for the more difficult to find eggs. This way everyone is given an equal chance and no body should come away with way more eggs than anyone else.

Once you have determined that all eggs have been found, you can gather the kids around to see who got what. If done correctly everyone should have about the same number of eggs.
