Can You Earn Good Money Wholesaling?

Let me give you several examples from working with this Wholesale Club. I just got an email from the owner saying that he had a new shipment of digital cameras. Well I thought sure these will be "off-brand" cameras that are usually nothing but trouble. To my surprise they are name brand Casio EX-Z750 digital cameras that retail for close to $600 according to the sales page. Well because I'm a member of the Wholesale Club I will be able to purchase this Casio digital camera for $289.90. Is this a good price?

First I went to Wal-Mart.com to see if they offered the IDENTICAL camera which they did not. You have to be fair and compare apples to apples and not oranges. What I did note and this is another thing you should be aware of in your shopping is that the EX-Z750 is NOT the latest model from Casio. In fact for $398.84 you can purchase the newer EX-Z850.

Then to see what price was being offered for the EX-Z750 I visited eBay, even though if you have been following my battle with eBay, I would NEVER shop there again! I found the identical camera being sold there for as low as $170 for BuyItNow! To be fair I checked to make sure that was a brand NEW in the box price. Well the ones being offered were NOT new cameras! So could this be a good price after all?

Then I visited Amazon to see if they had a EX-Z750 for sale that was new. This time there were several brand new ones that ranged in price from $429- 299! I was still going to get my camera through the Club for $10 cheaper!

Could I find it cheaper than $289.90? Possibly but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and shipping and handling was ZERO costs!

Let's use another example that also was being touted on this sales page- a brand new Kassel 31 day Grandfather Clock. My price is $125; however checking on eBay I found this same clock for BuyItNow for $89.95. So in this case I would be smarter to buy it at eBay where it looks like I would save about $35. But I did note that my shipping and handling for this item was going to be $54.95 and my Club's shipping and handling was ZERO! So again my Club wins out over eBay!

I decided to see what Amazon was offering and was very pleasantly surprised to see the lowest price for a new clock was $139.95 and that did not include shipping and handling!

So my experience has been that buying for yourself through this Wholesale Club seems to be a VERY good deal on these two items. However when it comes to buying to make money then you will see that the margins for profit from the sale of these two items would be slim. On the digital camera you might earn $10-20 per camera and the Club does drop ship. On the grandfather clock you would still make may be $10-20 per clock.

This Wholesale Club offers you the opportunity to buy close out designer jewelry but again are you really going to make a decent profit? Let's see.

I checked out the popular Baby Phat Dogtag Necklaces and found that the Club was offering them for $2.99 in either sterling silver or 24K gold. Now you might think this was a real bargain since these necklaces are retailing for around $30. Again a check on eBay did not find the exact same item but one close to it and there was may be 50 cents to be made per necklace! A check of the Baby Phat's own web site showed that they were not even selling these dog tag necklaces.

So I certainly think that in at least two of the cases with the camera and the clock you would do well to purchase these items through my Wholesale Club IF you are buying for yourself or gifts. But I think there are far more lucrative ways to earn money than through this wholesaling.
