Very Early Signs of Pregnancy Before Missed Period
Sensitive and Tender Breasts
One of the early signs of pregnancy before missed period is a change in the look and feel of the breasts. The breasts become sensitive to touch, they may increase in size and sometimes the veins on them may become visible. These changes in the appearance and feel of breasts occur due to the hormonal changes that take place inside the woman's body after she has conceived.
Implantation Bleeding
Implantation bleeding is a vaginal discharge that is experienced by many women, around eight to ten days after ovulation, when the fertilized egg implants itself in the uterus lining. Implantation can be differentiated from regular periods by the color of the blood, which is either pink or brown as well as the amount of blood flow, which is very less when compared to the periods.
Slight Cramping
Sometimes, implantation bleeding is preceded or accompanied by a dull ache or cramping in the lower abdomen. Many of the women who experience implantation bleeding, often get mild cramps in early pregnancy too.
Change in Body Temperature
One of the pregnancy symptoms before missed period, which is very hard to detect, is the changes that take place in the body temperature. After ovulation takes place, the temperature of the body increases. However, if fertilization does not occur, the temperature drops, what is medically known as implantation dip. On the other hand, if fertilization takes place, this drop in temperature does not occur and it remains elevated for a long time, thus confirming that the woman has conceived.
Tiredness
Among the first signs of pregnancy before missed period is a feeling of general tiredness and fatigue. A woman might feel physically stressed and even tends to sleep a lot more. This is mainly caused due to the increase in the progesterone levels in her body after she conceives.
Heightened Sense of Smell/Nausea
An early signs of pregnancy before missed period, which many women experience is a heightened sense of smell. This usually occurs due to an increase in the estrogen levels in the body. A woman might also feel nauseated due to these smells.
Food Cravings
A woman can suddenly develop a liking or aversion for certain kinds of foods. Usually women feel like eating foods which are tangy or sour in nature, though many women experience sweet cravings too.
Increased Urination
Another earliest possible sign of pregnancy before missed period is an increase in the frequency of urination. When a woman conceives, the size of the uterus automatically starts increasing so as to make room for the growing fetus. This increase in the size of the uterus, pressurizes the urinary bladder, thus making the woman urinate much more frequently.
Besides the ones mentioned above, some other early signs of pregnancy before missed period are headaches, indigestion sometimes leading to heartburn, constipation, mood swings, morning sickness and lower back pain. Some women experience all these symptoms, some may not experience even one and some may not notice a few of them. So, a pregnant women needs to pay real attention and tune into her body, when looking out for these early pregnancy symptoms before missed periods.
