Duggar Family At it Again – To Add Child Number 19
The Duggar family, which has been featured on a variety of television shows for their 18 children, is adding number 19 to the brood.
It would occur to most people that having 18 children is quite enough. To the Duggars, however, however many come naturally will be the final number they settle on. The family, consisting of Mom Michelle and Dad Jim Bob (yes, Jim Bob) rose to national prominence after making appearances on the Discovery Health Channel and The Learning Channel for their unusually large brood. The couple, from Tontitown, Arkansas, married in 1984 and since then have been churning out children at a prodigious clip. With 18 kids already in the boat, number 19 is now on the way.
Michelle announced yesterday on the Today Show that she was pregnant with her 19th child and that the due date is in March 2010. A new TLC series "18 Kids and Counting" will feature the Duggars. Michelle Duggar, who is 42 years old, had an interesting story behind the latest pregnancy as well.
Duggar noticed that she wasn’t losing weight, even though she and her husband Jim bob were on Weight Watchers and had been trying to lose weight for some time. Then, her youngest child, 8-month-old Jordyn-Grace, began reacting differently while breast feeding. She noticed similar behavior in the past, presumably a result of a change in breast milk during pregnancy. Michelle took a pregnancy test and, according to her, "And lo and behold, I was just pleasantly surprised that this was positive. I was just jumping up and down and going, ‘Thank you, Lord. Here I am 42, thinking my baby days are over and you’ve blessed us with another one.’"
