Dry Facial Skin

Exfoliating: This should not be done daily but once or twice a week. This helps in getting rid of the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin that tend to make the skin dull. Rub the scrub with light hand in circular motions all over the face. Give extra attention to areas like forehead and nose which have more dead skin particles. Then wash it off thoroughly. If you have a dry sensitive facial skin then exfoliation with skin care products can cause irritation. In that case, use a soft natural sponge for this purpose.

Moisturizing: After cleaning or exfoliation of the dry skin, application of moisturizer is a must. When moisturizer is applied on the moist skin, it locks the moisture inside the skin and make it smooth and supple and give it a youthful glow. During the day, apply a sunscreen based moisturizer to prevent your skin form harmful radiation of the sun. At night, you can use any facial moisturizer which is suitable for dry skin. It will penetrate through the skin throughout the night and prevent further drying of skin.

The best treatments are those which are done with the help of natural substances found at home. Here we suggest facial for dry skin that will have a deep moisturizing effect on it.

Honey and Avocado: One of the best natural facial moisturizers is honey. While avocado is rich in vitamins that are excellent for your skin health. Mash half of an avocado and mix it up with 2 tablespoonful of honey properly. Then apply it on the entire face except the eye area in a thick, uniform layer. Leave it for half an hour and then wash with lukewarm water. Even if you have sensitive dry skin, you can use this mask.

Oatmeal and Olive Oil: Cook some oatmeal and then mix equal amount of olive oil into it. Once this mixture has cooled down, apply it generously on your face to make a thick facial mask. Oatmeal can act as an excellent scrub. The natural ingredients of olive oil and will maintain the pH balance of the skin and make your skin look healthy.

Just treating the dry skin externally is not enough. You have to eat right kind of food that are rich in vitamins and minerals, and drink plenty of water to keep your skin in healthy, hydrated condition. The use of incorrect skin care products could be responsible for dry facial skin. Therefore, carefully read the label before purchasing any such product to check if it will suit your skin or not.
