Drew Lachey Slams Affair Rumors

Recently it was reported that the very married Lachey and his ex dancing partner Burke were involved in an illicit affair. A rep for Lachey called the reports "completely false and cannot be further from the truth." Burke’s rep said, "The story that Cheryl is involved with Drew Lachey started two years ago when they were partners on Dancing with the Stars. It wasn’t true then and it isn’t true now." Star magazine recently ran the article claiming that Burke’s boyfriend at the time Matthew Lawrence caught the two in the act.

Lachey and Burke won Season 2 of the hit show and reportedly had an affair during the DWTS’s nationwide tour. A source on the tour said, "They didn’t go very far to cover it up. Cheryl was constantly draped all over Drew. They held hands, had their legs intertwined and were always touching inappropriately." Lawrence reportedly discovered the affair when he found Burke and Lachey in her dressing room on January 22. Lawrence reportedly never confirmed that Burke and Lachey were having an affair but said, "There are too many things going on. I can’t talk about it."

Lachey, formerly of the band 98 Degrees, married his high school sweetheart, Lea, on October 14, 2000. Lea was also the choreographer for 98 Degrees. The couple welcomed daughter Isabella Claire in March 2006. Burke and Lawrence dated for almost a year before calling it quits in January. Burke is a two time champ on DWTS. She and Lachey won the title in February 2006 and then she and Emmitt Smith won in November 2006. She is currently paired with actor Steve Guttenberg on the sixth season of the show.
