Drew Barrymore & Fabrizio Moretti Call it Quits

Barrymore reportedly ended the relationship despite the fact that she appears on the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and reportedly "gushed" about him and their relationship. A source now says they split. Said the source, "Drew said they needed some time off." A friend of Moretti’s confirmed the split by saying, "Fab is now living back in his old apartment." The couple began dating in April 2002 and has since gone through some rocky times.

Eyebrows were raised when Barrymore skipped the wedding of Moretti’s bandmate and Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas in February 2005 and just a few months later the couple had a huge public fight in Santa Monica, California. A source close to Barrymore said, "He’s younger, and she’s more worldly. He doesn’t like the Hollywood stuff. He doesn’t get her friends." The two have broken up twice before so they may not be down for the count just yet. Said the source, "This is exactly what happened last time they took a break."

In the February Harper’s Bazaar issue Barrymore said of Moretti, "Right now I’m in a phase of ‘I’m not even your girlfriend. I’m your best friend who is madly in love with you.’ The longest I’ve ever been with someone was like two to three years, so I’m in unchartered waters. Right now I’m more into championing him as a human being than gushing love for him." Neither Barrymore nor Moretti’s camp has commented on the rumors of a break-up. Maybe they will be able to get through this and move forward with their relationship.
