Dreams And Memories

Happiness holds many memories.
Where have all the years gone?
It seems like only yesterday,
When we first fell so much in love,
Like schoolkids in a dream.

And we burned our days away,
And we vowed that we would keep their ashes,
You gave them to me, I held them safe,
I kept them in my memories.

You talked through your smile,
While I talked through my eyes,
Your laughter shone your happiness,
While your beauty, I recognized.

Summer skies bathed in blue,
Turned to deep crimson sunsets,
And veered towards the harvest moon,
As the summer drew to an end.

And we danced all through the winter,
Till the sunrise of the spring,
And if I could turn back the hands of time,
I wouldn't change a thing.

It seems back then, we lived in bed,
Where we pledged our love forever,
Within the warmth of the blankets,
We huddled up together.

It became our happy sanctuary,
Where we made our love divine,
We'd light a scented candle,
And feel blessed within its flame.

But time stands still for no one,
Though its memory remains,
Within our loving hearts and souls,
To be replayed through dreams.

And I still dream of you,
Every time I close my eyes,
You always creep into my dreams,
As I sleep through the night.

And I watch you lie in bed again,
Your silver hair spread across the pillow,
Though we're older now, I still see,
The beauty that stole my soul.
