Drastic Change

She's amazing at art; she loves her little brother, parents, up and left, becoming friends with the two people, who she never thought possible. What can happen to disturb her life more? The discovery of Rosemarie and her brother Trent's true identity and the meaning of their lives.
"Ro, Ro, wake up, Ro." I heard over and over again, a sweet, soft young voice belonging to my nine-year old brother Trent.

"Mmm I'm up, I'm up." I laughed as he started to pull my ear.

"Good," he whispered and hugged me, it wasn't just a hug, he held on for dear life.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong teddy?" I spook softly.

"I-I found a note," he paused to sit up with his leg crossed against my stomach, to look at me, "It was a note from m-mum and dad," tears started to form and flood down his light pink cheeks from his grass-green eyes, his blonde hair was short and sticking up every way possible, his lightly tanned skin made him look like a very young male model.

"What? Where is it honey?" Me, well I have light green eyes with tinges of blue and are very smoky. I have very light natural blonde hair with natural silver and white blonde highlights, my skin is a nice tanned skin tone, usually covered by jeans that I wear.

"In the kitchen," he closed his eyes as if to wake up from a bad dream.

"Okay honey, go get ready for school, you can so that for me? I'll get us some breakfast." I kissed his forehead, kicked off my blankets, bounced down the stairs and into the kitchen.

Glancing around the kitchen I spotted one of my fluro pink sticky notes, stuck to the stainless steel fridge. Just above the ice and water dispenser. It had less than fifteen words; I noticed it was my dad's writing he always wrote in capitals. I slowly pealed the note off the fridge to make sure I won't rip it, and I started reading. It was almost like I could hear my dad's voice reading it to me.

ROSE AND TRENT
WE HAVE CHANGED OUR IDENTITY
NEVER TRY TO FIND US.

At the bottom I recognized mum and dad's signatures. Little droplets splashed onto the little note, making me very confused. I looked up thinking maybe a leak. Then it hit me, I was crying, actually crying. I hadn't cried since I broke my arm when I was five, now I'm sixteen, that's a really long time now that I think about it.

"Ro?" I heard a small voice behind me.

"Yeah honey?" I sniffled, quickly wiping the tears out of my eyes with the back of my hand.

"It's just us, now right?" Trent's voice cracked as he whispered his confused words.

"Yeah it's just us from now on."

"Y-y-you love me, right?" He questioned.

"Of course I do, I cannot..."

"You wouldn't leave me?" He sounded so scared.

"What? Of course not, you're my little brother, I would take you everywhere I go if I could." I pulled him into a hug.

"Really?"

"Yep, now grab the milk, you want fruit loops or cornflakes?"

"Fruit loops, because there your favorite cereal," he laughed.

"Yep always have been, always will be."

We ate breakfast; I noticed the time was 7. I quickly spooned the last few fruit loops into my mouth. I told Trent to pack his bag and get his shoes on. I ran upstairs, threw on a gray singlet and some tight skinny jeans, and a pair of black vans. I went into the bathroom that I had connected in my room, putting on a very light layer of foundation and some mascara, dark green eyeliner that made my eyes pop. I threw my books, phone, iPod and some printouts of my resume to see if I can find another job, if I have to support Trent and me, then I can't just work at the little coffee shop. I ran back downstairs and made lunch for Trent and a sandwich for me. All of that took about fifteen minutes.

"Trent, come on or we'll miss the bus." I yelled up the stairs.

"Coming," his footsteps echoed down the stairs.

"Here's your lunch let's go," I was pushing him out of the door.

Our nice old next door neighbor, Mrs. Fawn was gardening, like every other day. "Hello Rosemarie, hello Trent," her voice, her stance, her dress was all so formal and proper.

"Morning Mrs. Fawn, sorry we can't talk we're late and now we have to run, bye." I yelled over my shoulder as we ran, our feet pounding the cement footpath, we ran for roughly 200 meters to the bus stop.

Our buses were there, except mine was pulling away and Trent's had kids still boarding. I walked him to the door gave him a hug and watched him get on. I missed my bus so I decided to walk to the school; I might miss first and second class but at least I'll get there. Trent's bus pulled out and sped past me blowing a gush of hit wind into my face, I saw Trent in the window waving madly, and I laughed and waved back. Damn I have a long walk ahead of me.

"Hey do you want a ride?" I turned to see a black Porsche; I looked through the window and recognized the guy from school.

"Sure, thanks, that would be great, Ryan right?"

"Yeah and you're Rose?" He asked back.

"Yep," I opened the door and got in; as soon as my door closed we were speeding on our way to school. We talked about random things like school, things like school classes. I found out he was in my gym, art and we had the same free period.

Ryan is a popular guy, rich kid, has everything he's ever asked for which explains the Porsche he has as a car and the unlimited amount of girlfriends. He has light brown shaggy hair with natural blonde highlights; his eyes were a deep soft brown, he was very muscular and his skin had a light brown tan. In school Ryan is one of the most popular guy in high school, compared to me. I don't actually have any friends at school, I rather draw over company of a person, which is why I'm so close to Trent.

I opened the door and stepped out of the car, every person's eye that was standing by the car, in the parking lot. In the entrance to the school, was staring at me with either envy or hatred, which I didn't like at all. Not only did they stop and stare, looked and stopped talking, speechless, they were all so surprised. I felt so open, like I was being judged because of one tiny thing, I think all the people who were staring at me now didn't even know my name, some probably hadn't even seen me before. I just ignored it and walked towards the school entrance.
