Water the plant once a week, as over watering may cause rotting of the roots. As the plant grows, support must be provided in the form of trellis or metal frames and make sure to secure new growths to these frames with strong twines. Once the shoots grow well, allow three to five secondary pseudo stems to grow in a balanced and well spread manner. You may also help the flowers to get pollinated. This can be done by collecting the pollen (from anthers) in a soft brush and depositing it on the stigma (star-shaped), which protrudes out of the petals. You may use organic fertilizers twice a year for good yield.
This tree can also be planted in big containers or pots (preferably ten gallon). You have to ensure proper drainage by placing some rocks and gravel in the bottom of the container, which can be filled with potting soil. Make sure to keep a stake at a distance of around three to four inches from the plant. Place the pot in light shade and during frost, you have to keep the plant indoors.
