Houston Downtown Apartments offer some great options when it comes to apartment or loft living. Downtown renters will find they have spectacular access to the thoroughfares in the area including Interstates 10, 45, Highway 59 and the 610 Loop.

Two of the newer loft properties for rent include Lofts at The Ballpark and Sabine Street Lofts. Each community offers renters loft style living, including stained concrete flooring, tall ceilings, and gorgeous views of the downtown areas. Many modern loft communities today have a separate bedroom divided by a partition. It is not simply a wall that completely divides both rooms, but a sort of "soft" loft, whereby renters get a certain feel that it is another room.

Renters today are demanding some of the newer amenities including state of the art fitness centers, boasting free weights, exercise balls, and even personal trainers. Lofts at the Ballpark lies on the East side of the downtown area.

This loft community doesn’t fetch as much per square foot as Sabine due to the location. A third loft property for rent in the area is Post Rice Lofts building. This is actually is an old hotel that has been transformed into a loft apartment. The main drawbacks include absent washer and dryers in the individual units and small windows.

However, it is within walking distance of the Houston Light Rail, which serves renters as an alternative method of transportation. Getting around Houston, Tx requires a car. However, the areas served by the light rail make it a bit more convenient for all. The main transportation route of the light rail is from a north to south direction. This will take riders from the north side of the downtown area all the way to the Texas Medical Center.
