Portions of the area did not lose electricity as many of the power lines are buried underground. Millions of residents who live in Houston lost power for weeks. The Metro Light Rail is also a featured aspect of Downtown as its route begins on the North side of the area and continues South towards its final destination near the Texas Medical Center. The Light Rail is really the only form of public transportation in the city of Houston.

Residents who live in Downtown now can travel to other parts of the city without having to walk or drive a car. Residents who live in Downtown Houston make their home in different sectors. Many residents live in the Warehouse district of Downtown.
This section lies on the East Side near Minute Maid Park. This stadium is the home of the Houston Astros. Apartments in Houston boast stained concrete or hardwood flooring. Many residents homes contain floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views of Downtown and other sections of the city. Main Street is an extremely popular portion of Downtown that contains restaurants, bars, and clubs.
